Translation of the speech by Member of Knesset Osher Shkalim:
Mr. Speaker of the Knesset and Members of Knesset,
I would like to raise for public discussion the issue of sovereignty.
Last week, I sent a letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu in which I requested and urged the application of sovereignty in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley.
Operation "Roar of the Lion" is creating a new world order and reshaping the Middle East.
In these days, we are roaring and fighting as full, equal, and unique partners together with the United States. On the other hand, we see the weakness of NATO and most Western countries.
Today, Israel is the regional superpower and the only true ally of the United States, which knows it can rely only on us. The Americans also understand that the destruction of Hamas and Hezbollah is critical and essential for Israel, and they will go all the way with us on this matter.
Therefore, this is the time to demand and implement the application of sovereignty as a diplomatic achievement. Just as we are winning on the battlefield, so too will we lead a diplomatic victory. The application of sovereignty is the ultimate diplomatic victory! It will serve as the practical realization of Israel's status as a regional power.
Moreover, the countries around us now understand that a strong Israel is no longer their enemy, but rather an anchor and a source of stability for the entire region.
Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley are an inseparable part of the Land of Israel and the State of Israel—not only by historical and spiritual right, but also as a strategic security belt that protects us. It is time that the residents, who through their very presence serve as a protective shield for the people of Israel, enjoy true equality of rights and are able to live normal civilian lives.
The application of sovereignty should not be a political issue, as it will make clear to our enemies that we are here to stay—and that only we will remain here. Our enemies have no place in our land.
Prime Minister Netanyahu, we are blessed with your leadership. You lead us with pride to achievements and victories, and no one is more fitting than you to also lead us toward the application of sovereignty.
There is no one else who understands the international arena better than you, and who enjoys the recognition and prestige that you rightfully deserve. This situation must be utilized to achieve the necessary diplomatic success.
This is the tremendous legacy you are shaping—one that will secure the status of our grandchildren for many years to come.
Prime Minister Netanyahu, the people are with you—we are with you. Continue to act and succeed!
