חברתנו היקרה אסתר פולארד, אשת הפלדה, הסתלקה מאתנו
אסתר, דמות מופת הדבקה במטרתה עד אין קץ.
דבר לא יכול היה להטות אותה מהחתירה המקודשת לשחרורו של יונתן מהכלא, שם ישב ב"חטא" אהבת ארץ ישראל.
על אף המרחק הפיזי היו אסתר ויונתן גוף ונשמה אחת, דבוקים באהבתם הגדולה ובמסירותם לארץ ישראל, ללא חת וללא מורא.
אסתר התדפקה על דלתותיהם של מנהיגי העולם באומץ ובנחישות בדרישה לשחרורו של בעלה, לא נחה לרגע.
בין מפגשיה עם שועי עולם הובילה בכל רחבי הארץ תפילות שהרעידו לבבות.
בדבקותה הצליחה אסתר לזכות ביהונתן חופשי ומאושר כאן בארץ אבותיו שלמענה הקריב מעל שלושים שנה.
הם היו יחד בשליחות הזאת שחיברה ביניהם, שליחות שתישאר בזכרון האומה לעד.
יהי זכרה חרות לנצח בתולדות עם ישראל.
בקיץ האחרון זכינו לארח בעוז וגאו"ן, בועידת נוער ריבונות, את אסתר ויהונתן פולארד שהתקבלו בקבלת פנים מלכותית ע"י מאות בני הנוער. צפו ברגעים המרגשים

Our dear friend Esther Pollard, the woman of steel, has left us.
Esther was an exemplary personality, who persisted to the end in achieving her goals.
Nothing could divert her even one millimeter from the path of freeing Jonathan from prison for the "sin" of loving the Land of Israel.
Despite the physical distance between them, Esther and Jonathan were one body and soul, joined by their great love for, and devotion to, the Land of Israel, without fear and without apprehension.
Esther knocked on the doors of world leaders, never resting for a moment.
When she was not traveling, she was organizing moving prayer vigils throughout the Land.
With her devotion, Esther succeeded in gaining a free and happy Jonathan here in the land of his forefathers, on whose behalf he sacrificed for more than thirty years.
They were together in this mission that united them, a mission that will remain in the nation's memory forever.
May her memory be inscribed forever in the annals of the Jewish people.
Last summer we had the privilege of hosting Esther and Jonathan Pollard in Oz veGaon for the annual Sovereignty Youth conference. Jonathan and Esther were greeted with a royal reception by hundreds of youth.

The funeral will take place today at 4:00pm Har Hamenuhot, bet Hahesped Kehillat Yerushalayim. All of Am Yisrael are invited to accompany Esther on her final journey and to embrace Jonathan.

התגרה בכנסת, חוק החשמל, השתלחות יאיר גולן, החורבן בחומש, אבדן האמון בהנהגה. חשבון נפש של עם ומנהיגיו.
חותמת פרלמנטרית לאבדן המשילות
האירועים סביב העברתו של חוק החשמל בכנסת הותירו את כולנו במידה לא מבוטלת של בלבול ותחושת חוסר אונים.
החוק המחיש לכולנו עד כמה תלותה של ממשלת ישראל במפלגה ערבית גורמת לאיבוד הריבונות היהודית של הממשלה. מאז הקמת ממשלה זו, אנחנו תלויים בתכתיבים שיכולים להרוס את כל אשר נבנה כאן בעמל רב כדי להקים בארץ ישראל את מדינת הלאום של העם היהודי, מדינה בה היהודים אמורים להחליט על גורלם.
כן, הערבים בישראל הם אזרחים, אבל ההזדהות הלאומית של נציגיהם בכנסת היא עם האויב, עם הרשות הפלשתינית והחמאס, שמטרתם פירוק המדינה היהודית. כל עוד ישראל היא מדינה יהודית לא יעלה על הדעת שממשלת ישראל תיכנע לתכתיב ערבי-בדואי. איך בכלל התדרדרנו למצב הזה?
לא חוסר החיבור של ההתיישבות הצעירה היא הבעיה. גם אם יחברו אותם לחשמל בסופו של מהלך, זה מביש. חיבור שכזה צריך היה להיעשות מלכתחילה, ולא כפיצוי לחיבור של הבנייה הבדואית. לא ניתן ולא נכון להשוות בין השניים. ההתיישבות הצעירה היא כולה מעשה ציוני שנועד לחזק את אחיזתנו בארץ ישראל, ועל הממשלה לדאוג להתפתחותה. הרי אלו מטרות הציונות, להקים ישובים יהודים, להביא עליה ולדאוג לביטחון. כל מי שמזדהה עם המטרות האלה יכול להיות שותף במדינה היהודית, אך מטרת המפלגות הערביות הפוכה לחלוטין. יעדן הוא למנוע את אחיזתנו בארץ ישראל. האם לשם כך קמה הממשלה? ממשלה שכזו חמורה עשרות מונים מבחירות חמישיות ומהיעדר תקציב. הרי מה הטעם להעברת תקציב אם אנחנו מאבדים את הכיוון?
מנהיגות במשבר
ישיבת המליאה שהביאה לאישור חוק החשמל הייתה כרוכה באותו עימות מביש, בין ראש הממשלה לחברי האופוזיציה. נקודה נוספת הייתה הפגיעה בכבודה של חברתנו, יו"ר שדולת ארץ ישראל הנאמנה לערכיה, חברת הכנסת אורית סטרוק, בביטוי הלא הולם שהטיח בה ראש הממשלה.
התחושה הגוברת היא שרגעים מבישים אלו במליאת הכנסת הן עדות נוספת לאבדן דרך ואבדן שליטה מנהיגותית. נטישת הערכים מביאה לתסכול, לתחושות אשמה ולהתפרצות.
המנהיגות הישראלית זקוקה למנהיג עם אידיאולוגיה עמידה שבכוחו לעמוד בלחץ פנימי וחיצוני, מנהיג שמסוגל לעמוד איתן מול אתגרים מורכבים באחת המדינות המורכבות בעולם, אם לא המורכבת שבהן.
אי אפשר להמשיך עם ממשלת סטטוס קוו של "נתינה" לכל צד ממרכיבי הממשלה, פעם מימין ופעם משמאל. אומרים לא לקונסוליה אמריקאית לפלשתינים בירושלים, שזה מצוין, אומרים כן להכפלת רמת הגולן, גם זה מצוין, אך מצד שני מוותרים על הנגב ועל הגליל ע"י עידוד בנייה בדואית בלתי חוקית, כניעה לחאק-אל-ערב וזניחת יהודה ושומרון מאחור, והחמור מכל: תלות באצבעות רע"ם. חייבים להתעשת! אסור ש"הנתינה" לימין תשתיק אותנו. אסור שזה יצדיק מעשים אנטי-ציוניים כמו פינוי חומש או עקירת כרם של 2000 עצים בחוות ערוגות בגוש עציון. חייבים להקים ממשלה שמטרותיה ברורות, ממשלה עם ערכים ציוניים כפי שרוב העם הצביע.
מה מלמדות ההשתלחויות?
ההשתלחות הקשה של סגן השר, חבר הכנסת יאיר גולן, בחלוצי חומש והגדרתם בביטוי 'תת אדם' זכתה לגינויים נרחבים, אך לא די בכך. התבטאות זו מגיעה זמן קצר לאחר התבטאותו של השר לביטחון פנים, עומר בר לב, על "אלימות המתנחלים", התבטאות שהגיעה זמן קצר אחרי דיון מיוחד שהתקיים בכנסת ונשא על נס את מה שהוגדר גם שם כ'אלימות המתנחלים'.
ההשתלחויות הללו מצטרפות לכל המקרים שתיארנו לעיל של הנהגה שיורדת מערכי הציונות ועולה לפסים מסוכנים של מדינת כל אזרחיה.
להתעורר
כל הנקודות הנ"ל חייבות לעורר אותנו ואת המנהיגות הימנית לחשבון נפש ולפעולה דחופה בזירה הפוליטית שתעצור את התלות במפלגות הערביות כדי למנוע התדרדרות.

The fracas in the Knesset, the "Electricity Law," Yair Golan's diatribe, the destruction in Ḥomesh, the loss of trust in leadership: a reckoning of a people and its leaders.
A Parliamentary Confirmation of the Loss of Governance
The events surrounding the passing of the "Electricity Law" in the Knesset left all of us in a state of considerable confusion and a sense of helplessness.
The law illustrated to all of us the extent to which the dependency of the Israeli government upon an Arab party causes the loss of the government's Jewish sovereignty. Since the establishment of this government, we are dependent upon dictates that are liable to destroy everything that was constructed here by means of hard labor in order to establish a nation state for the Jewish people – the Jewish State – a state in which the Jews are supposed to decide their fate.
Yes, the Arabs in Israel are citizens, but the national identification of their representatives in the Knesset is with the enemy, with the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, whose objective is the dismantling of the State of Israel. As long as Israel is a Jewish State, it is inconceivable that Israel will submit to an Arab-Bedouin dictate. How have we deteriorated to this state of affairs?
It is not the lack of electricity in the new communities that is the problem. Even if they ultimately connect them to the electrical grid, this is disgraceful. That connection should have been done from the outset; not as compensation for the connection of Bedouin construction. It is wrong and inappropriate to draw comparisons between the two. The new communities are, in their entirety, a Zionist undertaking intended to strengthen our foothold in the Land of Israel, and it is incumbent upon the government to see to its development. These are the Zionist objectives – to establish Jewish communities, to facilitate aliya, and to ensure security. Anyone who identifies with these objectives can be a partner in the Jewish State; but the objective of the Arab parties is the diametric opposite. Their objective is to prevent our foothold in the Land of Israel. Is that why the government was established? A government of this kind is ten times worse than fifth elections or the lack of a budget. What is the point of passing a budget if we have lost our direction?
Leadership in Crisis
The Knesset session that led to ratification of the "Electricity Law" involved that disgraceful confrontation between the Prime Minister and the members of the opposition. An additional point is the affront to our friend, chairperson of the Eretz Yisrael lobby, who is loyal to her ideals, Member of Knesset Orit Struk, with the inappropriate expression which the Prime Minister hurled at her.
The overwhelming sense is that these shameful moments in the Knesset plenum serve as additional evidence of the loss of direction and the loss of leadership control. Abandonment of ideals leads to frustration, feelings of guilt, and outbursts.
Israeli leadership requires a leader with a durable ideology, capable of withstanding internal and external pressure; a leader who is capable of standing resolutely in the face of complex challenges in one of the, if not the, most complex countries in the world.
It is not possible to continue with a government whose status quo involves "giving" to each side of the government's components, sometimes to the Right and sometimes to the Left. They say no to an American Consulate for Palestinians in Jerusalem, which is excellent. They say yes to doubling the population in the Golan Heights, which is also excellent. However, on the other hand, they relinquish the Negev and the Galil by encouraging illegal Bedouin construction, caving in to Haq-al-Arab law, while leaving Judea and Samaria behind, and worst of all: Dependency on the votes of the United Arab List.
We must come to our senses! We must not allow the "giving" to the Right to silence us. We must not allow this to justify anti-Zionist acts like the evacuation of Ḥomesh or the uprooting of a vineyard containing two thousand vines in the Arugot farm in Gush Etzion. It is necessary to establish a government whose objectives are clear, a government with Zionist values in keeping with the vote of the majority of the people.
What do the Diatribes Teach Us?
The harsh diatribe unleashed by Deputy Minister MK Yair Golan against the Ḥomesh pioneers, and his characterization of them as untermenschen was met with widespread condemnation, but that is not enough. This statement comes a short time after the statement of the Minister of Public Security, Omer Bar Lev, regarding the "settler violence," a statement that came a short time after a special symposium that took place in the Knesset that headlined what there, too, was characterized as "settler violence."
This diatribe joins all the examples cited above of leadership that is forsaking Zionist ideals and moving in the dangerous direction of a state of all its citizens.
Wake Up
All the points cited above must inspire us and the right wing leadership to engage in soul searching and to take urgent action in the political arena that will stop the dependency on the Arab parties, in order to prevent further deterioration.

They have delayed the uprooting of the Arugot Farm vineyards! The demonstration is called off. For now.
Delayed. Not canceled.
The outpouring of support has been overwhelming.
Grassroots pressure works! I don't think they were expecting such a barrage of media, activism, and solidarity.
The battle is not yet over! They can decide on a whim to surprise us and implement these dark and immoral plans.
This is not a struggle over our vineyards.
This is a struggle over the right of the nation of Israel to live in the Land of Israel!
This is a struggle over the right of Jews to live in Judea.
This is a struggle of the rights of an ancient nation to live in our indigenous homeland.
What starts with Judea ends with Jerusalem.
Please, my friends, be on call. The time may come soon where they come back to uproot and destroy and we need you by our side.

1) ביקור עמיחי שיקלי בעוז וגאו"ן
ח"כ עמיחי שיקלי ביקר אתמול בעוז וגאו"ן , שמע על הקמת המקום, על התוכניות לעתיד, על ריבונות, על נוער ריבונות .
אמר שחשוב להתמסר לעשיה בשטח ולחינוך.
הגיע עם צוות עוזרים מלאי אנרגיות ואידאלים. ב"ה, יש באופק מנהיגות ערכית.
עמיחי שיקלי, תודה על הביקור! נשמח להיות בקשר.
2) במוצאי שבת הגיעו עשרות לעוז וגאו"ן לשמוע את סיון רהב מאיר ואת מקהלת גוש עציון בניצוחה של אמונה שטיין. ראש מועצת גוש עציון מר שלמה נאמן פתח את הערב. ההנחיה המקסימה היתה של דודו סעדה. צלמים שהגיעו: מאיר אליפור וגרשון אלינסון. היה פשוט ערב מקסים.

OZ VEGAON IS ON THE MAP
1. MK Amichai Chikli visited Oz veGaon yesterday, heard about the founding of the place, about plans for the future, about Sovereignty, about Sovereignty Youth.
He told us how important it is to invest in actions on the ground and education.
He came with a wonderful team of aids, full of energy and idealism.. Thank G-d there is a leadership with values on the horizon.
Thank you Amichai Chikli for your visit.
We'd be happy to stay in touch.
2. On Saturday night, dozens of people arrived at Oz veGaon to hear journalist Sivan Rahav Meir and to listen to the Gush Etsion Choir led by Emunah Stein. Gush Etsion Mayor Shlomo Neeman opened the evening. MC was Dudu Saada. Photographers Meir Elipur and Gershon Ellinson. It was uplifting.
