מכתב פומבי לנוער ריבונות

הימים העוברים על עם ישראל הם ימים קשים. הטרור מרים ראש, המשילות הישראלית הולכת ומתכרסמת, לחצים בינלאומיים מופעלים על ישראל, בעוד נראה שידיה של המנהיגות אזוקות באזיקים פוליטיים כבדים.

המאבק ברוע מחייב בראש ובראשונה הצבת ייעוד וחזון המפיחים תקווה המאפשרת לאדם להתבונן קדימה אל מעבר לקושי ולהתגבר על הרוע ועל ייסורי הדרך המובילה בסופה אל המטרה.

ייסורים וקשיים הבאים על האדם הפרטי מרוממים ומעוררים אותו. כך גם בחייה של אומה. הייסורים הכואבים מחשלים את רוחה של האומה ותובעים ממנה לברר את תכליתה וייעודה. 

הבירור קשה לא פעם ונוקב, אך הוא הכרחי לקראת המשך דרכה של האומה אל מטרתה. התכלית והייעוד מפיחים בעם תקווה ואמונה ועם שני כלים אלה אין ספק שהעם יגיע נחוש, מחושל ומאמין אל ייעודו.

ארץ ישראל נקנית בייסורים, לימדו אותנו חז"ל וייסורים אלה מקרבים אותנו אל התכלית שנקבעה לנו בהבטחה הא-לוהית "והורשתם אותה". 

הרמב"ן מבאר את משמעותה של הורשת הארץ וקובע כי חובתנו היא ש"לא נעזבה ביד (שלטון) זולתנו מן האומות או לשממה", *משמעות ההורשה היא ריבונות*.

חובה וזכות היא לנו, בני הדור הזה, מדברי התורה לקומם בארץ ישראל ריבונות לאומית. 

התחלנו במהלך זה בשנת תש"ח, הרחבנו את המהלך במלחמת ששת הימים, אך עדיין לא השלמנו את המצווה במלואה. 

מצוות ירושת הארץ הופכת אותנו מיחידים לציבור, מפרטים לאומה ולעם. היחיד אינו יכול לקיים את מצוות 'והורשתם'. 

מצווה זו מוטלת על העם כולו ועל מנהיגיו. כל עוד היא אינה מושלמת עולה טענת האויב שכאילו גזלנו את הארץ מידיהם, ואם גזלנים אנחנו בעיניהם אך טבעי והגיוני לפעול בכל דרך כדי לגרש את הגזלן ולהשיב את הגזלה. בראיית המוסלמי המאמין בכך ש'דין מוחמד בסיף' בחודש הרמאדן מתגברת חובת המאבק על השבת הגזלה, גם על ידי החרב.

*כאשר איננו מחילים את ריבונותנו על כל מרחבי הארץ שהובטחה לנו, אנו מעוררים באויב תקווה להשיג את חלומו לגרשנו מארצנו. אזלת היד הריבונית של ההנהגה בישראל מפיחה תקווה שהנה עוד לחץ נוסף של טרור ואנו מתקפלים, נסוגים ומוותרים על ארץ חיינו.*

זו השעה לשוב ולקרוא לממשלת ישראל לקיים את חובת ירושת הארץ. 

תנועתנו, תנועת הריבונות, קוראת לראש הממשלה ושריו, הורישו את הארץ - החילו את הריבונות ובכך תגשימו את החלום הציוני, תמחקו את חלומם של מובילי הטרור ותפיחו בעם ישראל בשורה מחודשת של חלוציות וציונות מתוך עוצמה אמיתית.

עלה נעלה וירשנו אותה!

An Open Letter to the Sovereignty Youth

*"A People that raises itself like a lion..."*

*To our dear and beloved Sovereignty Youth,*

The people of Israel are undergoing difficult times. 

Terrorism is resurfacing, Israeli governance is continually eroding, and international pressure is being exerted on Israel, while the leadership's hands appear to be bound with heavy political shackles.

The struggle against evil requires, first and foremost, establishment of a mission and vision, inspiring hope that enables one to look ahead and see beyond the present difficulties and overcome the evil and suffering that one encounters on the path that ultimately leads to the goal.

Suffering and difficulty that an individual undergoes elevate and rouse him.

 The same is true in the life of a nation. The painful suffering toughens the spirit of the nation and demands that it clarify its purpose and its destiny. 

This clarification is difficult and sharp, but it is crucial in enabling the nation to continue along the path to achieve its objective. 

Purpose and destiny inspire in the people hope and faith, and with these two tools, there is no doubt that the people will reach its destiny determined, tough, and imbued with belief.

The Sages taught us that the Land of Israel is acquired through suffering, and that suffering draws us nearer to the objective that was established for us in the divine promise: "You shall take possession of it" (Bemidbar 33:53). 

Ramban explains the meaning of 'taking possession' of the Land, and determines that our obligation is, "Not to leave it in the hands (control) of any nation other than ourselves or to desolation." 

*The meaning of 'possession' is sovereignty.*

It is the obligation and the right of this generation, based on the words of the Torah, to establish national sovereignty in the Land of Israel. 

We began this process in 1948, expanded upon the process in the Six Day War, but we have not yet completely fulfilled the mitzva.

The mitzva to take possession of the land transforms us from individuals to a community, a nation and a people. 

The individual cannot fulfill the mitzva of "taking possession." This mitzva is incumbent upon the entire people and its leaders. 

As long as it remains incomplete, the enemy's claim that we robbed the land from them is raised. If we are robbers in their eyes, they take any action to banish the robber and recover the plunder. In the view of the Muslim who believes that "the justice of Muhammad is with the sword," in the month of Ramadan, the obligation intensifies to make every effort to recover the plunder by means of the sword as well.

*When we fail to apply our Jewish sovereignty in all parts of the Land that was promised to us, we inspire hope in the Arab enemy to realize their dream of expelling us from our Land*. 

The ineffectiveness of the leadership in Israel in the area of sovereignty inspires hope in the enemy that by exerting additional pressure by means of terrorism, we will G-d forbid  fold, retreat and relinquish the Land that is our life.

This is the time to once again call upon the Israeli government to fulfill its obligation to take possession of the Land. 

Our movement, the Sovereignty Movement, calls upon the Prime Minister and his ministers: Take possession of the Land by applying Sovereignty and thereby fulfill the Zionist dream, eradicate the dream of the Arab terrorist leaders, and instill in the people of Israel a renewed message of pioneering and Zionism from a position of genuine strength.

Aloh Na'aleh - "We will go up and take possession of it" (Bemidbar 13:30).

How Israel should respond to the nuclear deal

We refer you to the important article here below by Dr. Mordechai Kedar, researcher and lecturer about the Middle East and Islam, who writes that Israel must prepare for the next battle and it is impossible to defend Israel without full Israeli control of the Jordan Valley.

Dr. Kedar warns: Israel must act and show all its neighbors, friend and foe alike, that it knows what to do for its own security and the security and safety of its citizens- - the application of sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.

How Israel should respond to the Iranian nuclear deal:

Expand Jerusalem to the Jordan Valley

As these words are being written in late March 2022, we are hearing reports from the media that it is very likely that the United States will soon sign a new improved nuclear deal with Iran, one very much in Iran's favor. This new deal would allow Iran to become a nuclear power within a few years, does not address the long-range missiles that Iran is developing, producing and using, and ignores the death and destruction that the Iranian Islamic Republic has sown throughout the Middle East. No doubt, Iran has come out the winner Vienna.

One possible consequence of this Islamist victory is a surge in Hamas's popularity among the Arabs of Judea and Samaria, who are already disgusted with the corruption of the Palestinian Authority and the PLO. It is almost certain that Hamas will win any future election, both in the Palestinian Legislative Council (as it did in January 2006) as well as in the presidential election. And if the PA becomes a state, Hamas in Judea and Samaria will replicate the Hamastan that has existed in the Gaza Strip since June 2007.

The conclusion thus far is that in all likelihood, the nuclear agreement between the United States and Iran, which fuels and funds Islamic terror throughout the region and the world, will give Islamic terror a tremendous boost.

To this should be added the current situation in Europe: Russia has invaded Ukraine, and the world – despite its promises to Ukraine – has not come out unequivocally against Russia. The Chinese are drawing their conclusions from this situation and revving their engines in the direction of Taiwan. As part of the agreement, the United States – the traditional ally of Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Bahrain – will be giving the Iranians everything they want to fight these countries, and they are already planning their military steps against Israel.

Israel must plan for the next war, which will certainly have a large ground dimension, in addition to an aerial one: ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, UAVs and planes. In a ground war, land and control over it are of paramount importance. Anyone with even minimal knowledge of how to operate forces and the ability to analyze the territory understands that it is impossible to defend the State of Israel without full control over everything that happens in the Jordan Valley. The river is the first line of defense, and the eastern slopes of the Judea and Samaria mountains are the line that the enemy's ground troops must never be allowed to cross.

However, we have recently learned that the Palestinian Authority is planning to build two new cities in the Jordan Valley so that these cities and their inhabitants will foil the "Zionist plot to take over the Jordan Valley". In order to contend with the Palestinian plan and Iran's war designs, Israel must apply its sovereignty to the Jordan Valley. Once the valley is sovereign Israeli territory, Israel will be able to both thwart the Palestinian plans and stop the Iranian tanks that could cross through Iraq and Jordan in a matter of hours.

We must bear in mind that with all the importance of security, the Jewish people has ancestral rights to the Jordan Valley, rights that the world recognized more than a hundred years ago in the resolutions of the San Remo Convention of the League of Nations (1920). The League of Nations gave the Jewish people all of the land of Israel, including Jordan, although it later took from it the "Emirate of Transjordan." Everything west of the Jordan River belongs to the Jewish people, both by virtue of its ancestral rights as well as the still-valid decisions of the international community.

Two questions immediately arise. The first: What will Israel's new allies – the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco, who signed the Abraham Accords in return for Israel not declaring sovereignty over the Jordan Valley – say? And the second, what will the world say and do in the face of such an Israeli step?

The answer to the first question is that Israel's new friends will denounce and condemn Israel in no uncertain terms, but will not do anything. This is because in view of the growing strength of Iran, which is breathing down their necks and threatening their very existence and as the United States twists the knife it stuck in their backs, they have no alternative to their alliance with Israel. They may take some kind of public steps, but in essence will do nothing.

The answer to the second question is a little more complicated and is related to the fact that when Israel established its sovereignty in the areas around Jerusalem that it liberated from Jordanian occupation in 1967, the world took no steps at all against Israel. However, although the world does not recognize any part of Jerusalem, not even the western part of the city, as Israeli territory – the sky did not fall. Israel passed Basic Law: Jerusalem, Capital of Israel and Basic Law: Israel as the Nation-State of the Jewish People, which determine that Jerusalem is Israel's capital and the world did not go berserk.

What Israel needs to do is to expand Jerusalem's municipal jurisdiction to all of the Jordan Valley, incidentally applying these basic laws and Israeli sovereignty to it. The world will rant and rave but will not do much else, just as it did nothing with regard to Jerusalem as it is today.

The current war raging in Ukraine proves once again that only a determined nation steadfast in its positions can endure in the cynical world in which Israel is trying to survive. Israel must act and show all its neighbors, friend and foe alike, that it knows what to do for its own security and the security and safety of its citizens, and that it will do what it must without fear or consternation.

על רקע ביקורו של שר החוץ האמריקאי, אנתוני בלינקן, בישראל במסגרת ועידת הנגב והדיווחים לפיהם בכוונתו להעלות בשיחותיו עם בכירי הממשלה בישראל שורת סוגיות בהן שוב הדרישה האמריקאית להקים מחדש את הקונסוליה האמריקאית עבור הרש"פ בליבה של ירושלים, נפרסם מחר (שני) בג'רוזלם פוסט את המודעה המצורפת.

הערה חשובה: המודעה נוסחה ונשלחה למערכת העיתון לפני הפיגוע הקשה בחדרה ובשל כך אין בה התייחסות ראויה לאירוע הנורא. עם זאת ראוי להוסיף ולציין כאן את העיוות החמור בהלך הרוח שאותו מביא שר החוץ האמריקאי כאשר בימים רוויי דם יהודי שכאלה הוא מעלה על נס את מה שמוגדר בפיו כ"אלימות המתנחלים", כאחת הבעיות המרכזיות שבכוונתו לעסוק בהן בביקורו.

BLINKEN-JERUSALEM-HADERA

Dear friends,

On the background of American Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's visit to Israel for the Negev Summit and reports that he intends to raise a number of matters in his discussions with senior government officials in Israel, including the American demand to re-open an American consulate for the PA in the heart of Jerusalem, we will publish tomorrow (Monday),  the attached ad in the Jerusalem Post.

We must continue to be vigilant. We must not become complacent in the  attempts by the Prime Minister and senior officials to calm us. 

The Biden administration has set for itself the goal of bringing back the idea of tearing the Land and establishing a Palestinian state in its heart and a significant step toward that goal is the establishment of the consulate.

We will keep our finger on the pulse, we will detect any political breeze in that dangerous direction and issue warnings about it out loud. This is our duty to Jerusalem, this is our duty to Jewish history, this is our duty to the People of Israel throughout the generations.

*Important note:* The announcement was written and sent to the paper's editorial staff before the terrible terror attack in Hadera, consequently, the horrific event is not mentioned. 

However, it is appropriate to note here the severe distortion that the American Secretary of State causes, when, at a time soaked with Jewish blood, he highlights what he defines as "settler violence" as one of the key problems that he means to address during his visit.

We expect the Prime Minister and other ministers to respond immediately to such harsh remarks, to inform the visitor that his words are offensive and defend the honor of Israeli citizens who sacrifice themselves every day for the Land of Israel. 

Silence in the face of such vicious slander and libel is tantamount to agreement, and is totally unacceptable.

The Hidden Secrets that the Land of Israel has Kept for us

The ancient amulet that was discovered in Har Eval in Samaria, has been deciphered and it includes the name of G-d in the ancient Hebrew of Biblical times; its sensational discovery yesterday in the media  takes us back to the lecture given by the late Prof. Zertal, 8 years ago in Shdema. Watch and share our excitement in (Hebrew).*

With the discovery of this sensational finding in Mount Eval dated from the late Bronze Age, an ancient amulet on which appears the name of G-d in Hebrew, we bring to you the erudite lecture by Prof. Adam Zertal, obm, the archaeologist who discovered Joshua's altar on Mount Eval.

The Hebrew text that appears on the amulet is the most ancient to be discovered in Land of Israel archaeology. One of the researchers, Prof. Gershon Galili from Haifa University is quoted in a Ynet article  : "This discovery is an earthquake in biblical study. It is a death blow to all biblical deniers".

We note that in his research, Prof. Zertal dated the site to the last quarter of the 13^th century BCE, and proved that the site is a remnant of the altar that is mentioned in the book of Deuteronomy, Chapter 27:1-10 and in the Book of Joshua, Chapter 8, as a key part of the scene imparting the blessing and the curse.

Prof. Zertal gave this important lecture about Mount Eval, which we present here, about eight years ago at Shdema,  in Gush Etzion, for Women in Green members. Shdema was the abandoned army base between Har Choma in Jerusalem and Tekoa in Gush Etsion, where after lots of activities, we managed to bring back a Jewish presence. Today there thank G-d is a big army base at the site.

The Sovereignty Movement sees the murderous attack in Beer-Sheva as further evidence of the immediate consequences of the political discourse surrounding partition of the Land and establishment of two states.

"The voices heard from the White House and the United Nations, that were also reflected in the statement of the *American Ambassador Tom Nides*, in favor of the establishment of a Palestinian terrorist state in the heartland of the Land of Israel, have not been receiving a resolute Zionist response from the Israeli government. 

The immediate result is providing momentum for the Arab-terrorist aspiration for the destruction and elimination of the State of Israel," say the heads of the movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar.

According to them, "In the face of these dangerous winds, the Israeli government must return to Zionist values ​​that completely reject the idea of ​​partitioning the Land. 

Applying Israeli sovereignty to Judea and Samaria is the necessary response for curbing terrorism and restoring the Zionist vision of the return of the Jewish people to all areas of its country. 

Even if the current composition of the government makes it difficult to resolutely stand behind these values, the people must demand this from their leaders. 

"Most of the people demand sovereignty and it is incumbent upon their leaders to courageously and proudly lead them to that objective."

The movement warns of intensification of the wave of terrorism, especially with the approach of the month of Ramadan, and calls upon the government to preemptively take Zionist measures of deterrence –strengthening settlement activity, enhancing governance and Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria as well as in other parts of the country.

צפו בשיעור על פורים שהרבנית שני טרגין  העבירה  אתמול בבית מדרש בעוז וגאו"ן עם פרשנות ציונית  למגילה. 

הרבנית טרגין מזכירה לנו את המסגרת ההיסטורית בה התרחש סיפור המגילה- בעת שבארץ ישראל היה בית מקדש וחיים עצמאים וטובים ליהודים. 

למרות זאת רוב היהודים בחרו להשאר בחוץ לארץ.

 הרבנית טרגין, בהתבסס על מדרשים ופסוקים מהתנ"ך, מראה איך שמגילת אסתר בעצם מהווה ביקורת של מרדכי ואסתר על היהודים בחוץ לארץ שבחרו להינות מהמשתה של אחשוורוש ומהבגדים היפים שלו במקום לבוא לארץ ישראל ולזכות בעלייה לבית המקדש ובעבודת הכהנים.

גם בסוף הסיפור-למרות כל מה שעברו, היהודים מחליטים להישאר ולא לעלות ארצה. 

ולכן אסתר מבקשת "כתבוני לדורות" כי היהודים לא הבינו את המסר של הסכנות בחוץ לארץ, לא הבינו שהיתה להם הזדמנות לחזור ארצה ולהופיע בפני מלך המלכים- אז אסתר מקווה שהדורות אחריה יבינו שזו תפקידו של כל יהודי. לעזוב את חוץ לארץ, לעזוב את הארמון של אחשוורוש ולחיות בארץ ישראל כי רק בארץ ישראל אפשר לממש את ייעודו של העם היהודי. 

עוד מציינת הרבנית טרגין שבזה שחז"ל בחרו לציין יום חג מיוחד בשושן פורים ולחגוג במקומות בהם יש חומה מתקופת יהושע בן נון שכבש את הארץ, חז"ל בעצם הפכו את פורים לחג ארץ ישראלי - חג הקורא לחגוג את העובדה שיש לנו ארץ בה אנו יכולים להיות עצמאיים וריבונים. לבנות  בה חברה של שלום ואמת ע"י משלוח מנות ומתנות לאביונים.

הרבנית טרגין סיימה את השיעור בבקשה לשלוח לכל אחינו היהודים בחוץ  לארץ את המסר החשוב הזה מאחורי סיפור המגילה:

 *יהודים יקרים! בואו הביתה! לארץ ישראל.*

*A Zionist interpretation of Megillat Esther*

Dear friends,

Here above is a link to the shiur ( in Hebrew) on Purim that Rabbanit Shani Taragin gave yesterday at the Beit Midrash in Oz veGaon with a Zionist interpretation on the Megillah.

Rabbanit Taragin reminds us of the historical context in which the story of the Megillah took place – at a time when the Holy Temple was  in the Land of Israel and there was independence and a good life for the Jews. 

Despite this, most of the Jews chose to remain outside the Land.

Based on sections from the Midrash and passages from the Bible, the Rabbanit showed how the Scroll of Esther itself is Mordechai and Esther's criticism of the Jews outside the Land, who chose to enjoy Ahasuerus' feast and his beautiful clothes instead of coming to the Land of Israel and having the privilege of making the pilgrimage to the Temple and attend the priests' rituals.

Even at the end of the story – despite all that they had been through, the Jews decide to remain and not make aliyah to the Land. 

And this is that reason that Esther requested that her message be "written for the generations", because the Jews of her time did not understand the message that there are dangers outside the Land, they did not understand that they had an opportunity to return to the Land and appear before the King of Kings – so Esther hopes that the generations that follow will read the megilla and understand that this is what every Jew must do - leave the Diaspora, leave Ahasuerus' palace and live in the Land of Israel, since only in the Land of Israel is it possible to fulfill the Jewish People's destiny.

Rabbanit Taragin also mentions that the fact that when the Sages chose to commemorate the special holiday of Shushan Purim to be celebrated in places where there are walls surrounding the city from the time of Joshua bin Nun, who conquered the Land, the sages actually made Purim a holiday of the Land of Israel  – a holiday in which we celebrate the fact that we have a Land where we can be independent and sovereign. To build in it a society of peace and truth by exchanging mishloach manot and giving gifts to the poor. 

The Rabbanit concluded the lesson with a request to send every Jew outside the Land of Israel this important message behind the story of the Megillah:

*To all our Jewish brothers and sisters,  come home, to Eretz Yisrael !*

*The Sovereignty Movement: PM Bennett and the ministers of the Right! Raise your voices and take a courageous stand against the Senate decision to promote the danger of the creation of a Palestinian State*.

The Sovereignty Movement takes a dim view of the report by  Arutz 7 Israel National News ( see attached) that when approving the budget, the US Senate decided to link the promotion of the Abraham Accords to the American administration's support for promoting partition of the land and establishment of a Palestinian state.

The movement warns of the Israeli government's turning a blind eye to what is transpiring in the diplomatic arena.

We must not allow a situation where dealing with the events in the Ukraine will blind our eyes to the warning lights that are flashing in Washington.

It is incumbent upon the Prime Minister and the ministers of the Right to resolutely support the political opposition to establishment of a Palestinian state, as the Prime Minister himself expressed in his meetings with US President Joe Biden.

A state of that kind would also constitute a fatal blow to the Jewish-Zionist vision of a sovereign Jewish state throughout the entire promised Land of Israel, but would also constitute a clear and present security danger to the existence of the State of Israel as it would bring Iran to its border," say the movement's leaders, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar.

"The prime minister must take a stand and once again clarify his position against the Senate's decision.

One must remember and state that the vast majority of the people in Israel oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state and any political action promoting a step of that sort undermines the very foundations of Israeli democracy," the movement said, emphasizing that an Israeli Prime Minister's stance, whatever it may be, regarding Israel's security and future must be implemented, even at the cost of a frontal confrontation with the US administration and its decisions.

This is how past prime ministers conducted themselves when making dramatic and substantive decisions regarding Israel's future. 

Ultimately, they received recognition and admiration from the administration in Washington itself."

מענה ציוני לאבדן השליטה והריבונות בבירת ישראל

 

חברים יקרים

פעילי תנועת הריבונות השתתפו השבוע בסיור בו נחשפה המשמעות המעשית של היעדר ריבונות ישראלית במזרח ירושלים, אך נחשפה בפניהם גם התכנית שתיתן מענה ציוני ולאומי ראוי – ירושלים רבתי.

 

תנועת הריבונות ממשיכה בסדרת סיורי השטח לפעילים ותומכים המבקשים להכיר את המציאות המורכבת של היעדר ריבונות ומשילות בישראל. עשרות השתתפו בסיור שקיימה התנועה בירושלים השבוע על שכונותיה השונות בהובלת המזרחן ברוך ידיד שחשף בפניהם מציאות כואבת ובלתי ידועה של אבדן שליטה וריבונות בשכונות הצפון והמזרח של ירושלים ומעורבות גורמים זרים ועוינים במתרחש בבירת ישראל.

 

במהלך הסיור פגשו המשתתפים גם את יו"ר תנועת 'אם אשכחך', חיים סילברשטיין בתצפית הר הצופים, משם נפרסת הבירה כולה, אך המבט צופה גם אל סביבותיה. סילברשטיין הציג בפני המשתתפים את תכנית 'ירושלים רבתי', אותה הוא מקדם בשנים האחרונות מול גורמים מדיניים ופוליטיים לצד בעלי תפקידים מוניציפליים בירושלים.

 

בדבריו הסביר את חשיבות המהלך כמענה הכרחי למצוקה הדמוגרפית בה מצויה בירת ישראל. הרחבת גבולה המוניציפאלי של ירושלים מכל עבריה והוספת שטחים נרחבים ושכונות נוספות לגבולה תאפשר הקמתן של שכונות ומוקדי תעסוקה רבים בעיר ובכך ישמרו את אופיה היהודי של העיר.

 

סילברשטיין תיאר את המציאות הדמוגרפית הקיימת כבר כעת ואת זו הצפויה בעתיד הנראה לעין במידה ולא תוקם 'ירושלים רבתי'. המסקנות העולות מדבריו מטרידות מאוד. העברת מושכות ניהול העיר במועצה ואולי אף בלשכת ראש העירייה לידיים ערביות עלולה להפוך למציאות כבר בעוד שנים לא רבות. הוספת גוש עציון, מעלה אדומים, גבעת זאב ומבשרת ציון והשטחים שבינן לבין ירושלים לירושלים עצמה תשנה את פני המציאות.

 

עוד ציין סילברשטיין את השפעת 'ירושלים רבתי' על מעמדה המדיני של ירושלים כבירה ישראלית בעלת עוצמה ומשמעות לאומית ובינלאומית כמקובל בבירות רבות בעולם.

המזרחן הבכיר ברוך ידיד תיאר בפני המסיירים את התהליכים העוברים על מזרחה של ירושלים מאז סגירת האוריינט האוס, ממנו ניהלה הרש"פ מעין ממשלה עצמאית, לפני למעלה מעשרים שנה. היה זה צעד ריבוני ישראלי בבירה, אך אל הוואקום שנוצר אחרי הסגירה נכנסו עשרות ומאות רבות של מוסדות רש"פ, ארגונים ערביים זרים ועויינים הפועלים בשורה ארוכה של תחומים אזרחיים, שלא תחת הסמכות הישראלית ואף בניגוד לה.

 

ידיד תיאר כיצד הרשות הפלשתינית עושה כל מאמץ כדי לבסס את אחיזתה במזרח העיר באמצעות שורה של מוסדות, אך גם באמצעות תושבי מזרח העיר, בעלי תעודות זהות כחולות. בין השאר מדובר ב"מושל הפלשתיני" של ירושלים, השר ברש"פ לענייני ירושלים, ראש יחידת ירושלים בלשכת "הנשיא", מזכ''ל הפת''ח ועוד שורה ארוכה של תושבי מזרח העיר, בהם קצינים בכירים ברש"פ.

עוד סיפר כי לצד הרש"פ פועלות במזרח העיר אגודות ועמותות איסלאמיות, חלקן בחסות הטורקים וחלקם האחר, שפועל לסירוגין, מזוהה עם החמאס או עם התנועה האסלאמית בישראל, והפלג הצפוני שהוצא מחוץ לחוק. ידיד ציין כי שורת אירועי טרור אירעה בחסות או בזיקה לעמותות אלו או לפעיליהן.

אזלת היד הישראלית, אומר ידיד, עולה בין השאר במספר אירועים שלכדו את תשומת הלב הציבורית ובהם משבר המגנומטרים, פתיחת שער הרחמים בחלקו הפנימי ואירועי ''שומר החומות''. ידיד מדגיש כי מדובר במאבק דתי לכל דבר ויעידו פסקי ההלכה המוסלמיים שהוציאו אנשי דת מובילים אודות המאבק על קרקעות ומקומות קדושים.

 

ידיד מתאר מציאות קשה בה האיחוד האירופי מממן תכניות פלשתיניות להפיכתה של ירושלים למטרופולין בירה פלשתיני לקראת הקמתה של מדינה פלשתינית, בעוד מדינת ישראל ורשויותיה אינן מזהות את המגמות והלכי הרוח שבמזרח ירושלים, מה שמוביל להפתעה ישראלית מול תופעות כמו אלפי צעירים ערבים נושאי דגלי חמאס על מדרגות מסגד אל אקצה במהלך 'שומר החומות'.

לדבריו "מדינת ישראל הוכיחה יכולות אדירות אל מול אתגרי השעה מאז הוקמה, אבל התוכניות הממשלתיות הקיימות אינן עונות על היעדר הריבונות הישראלית במזרח העיר. הגיע הזמן להתעורר ולהיאבק על הריבונות בבירה תוך תיקון ליקויים 'אזרחיים' רבים".

 

ראשי תנועת הריבונות, יהודית קצובר ונדיה מטר, מסכמות את הסיור ורואות בשני חלקיו כמשלימים זה את זה. "סדר היום של הסיור שילב רפואה ומכה. ברוך ידיד חשף בפנינו תופעות קשות של היעדר ריבונות במזרח ירושלים, כאשר אל הוואקום הריבוני הזה נכנסים גורמים עוינים המלבים טרור והסתה נגד ישראל. מנגד הציג בפנינו חיים סילברשטיין את המענה. הפיכתה של ירושלים למטרופולין מדיני ולאומי מרכזי המתפרס על שטח נרחב המוסיף נתח משמעותי לדמותה הדמוגרפית יהודית של ירושלים, לצד העמקת תודעת הריבונות והמשילות בירושלים, כל אלה הם המענה ההכרחי למציאות הקשה אותה הראה לנו ברוך ידיד".

בתנועת הריבונות רואים בסיורי הפעילים והתומכים השלמה והמשך לסדרת הסיורים שמקיימת התנועה למעצבי דעת קהל ואנשי ציבור וגם בהם נחשפים המשתתפים בהשלכות המעשיות של היעדר ריבונות ומשילות בחלקים נרחבים ממדינת ישראל.

בתנועה מזמינים תומכים ופעילים להצטרף לסיורים הבאים שתקיים התנועה בשבועות הבאים. הסיור הבא צפוי להתקיים בלוד כמודל להתמודדות והאתגר היהודי בערים המעורבות לצד חיזוק לתושבי העיר בתאריך יום שני, כ"ה אדר ב', 28/3/22.

Dear Friends,

Members from the Sovereignty Movement participated in a tour this week where the practical meaning of the lack of Israeli sovereignty in eastern Jerusalem was exposed, but they also heard about the plan that will provide the appropriate Zionist and nationalist response – Greater Jerusalem.

The Sovereignty Movement continues with its series of field tours for activists and supporters who want to learn about the complex reality resulting from the lack of sovereignty and governance in Israel. Dozens participated in the tour held by the movement in Jerusalem in its various neighborhoods, led by Middle East expert Baruch Yedid, who exposed to them the painful and little-known reality of the loss of control and sovereignty in the neighborhoods of northern and eastern Jerusalem and the involvement of foreign, hostile elements in Israel's capital.

During the tour, the participants also met with the head of the Keep Jerusalem movement, Haim Silberstein at the Mount Scopus observation point, from where the entire capital is spread out below, but also looks out upon the immediate surroundings. Silberstein presented the Greater Jerusalem plan to the participants, which he has been promoting in recent years to political elements as well as to officials of the Jerusalem Municipality.

AS part of his remarks, he explained the importance of the step as an essential answer to the demographic crisis in which the capital finds itself. Expanding the municipal borders of Jerusalem on all sides, adding considerable territory to its borders will allow the establishment of many neighborhoods and employment opportunities in the city, thus allowing for the Jewish character of the city to be preserved.

Silberstein described the present demographic reality and that which is expected in the near future if Greater Jerusalem is not established. The conclusions arising from his remarks are extremely concerning. That control of the city in the Council and even perhaps the mayor's office might be transferred to Arab hands, could become the reality in just a few years. Adding Gush Etzion, Ma'ale Adumim, Giv'at Ze'ev and Mevaserret Zion and the areas between them and Jerusalem, to Jerusalem itself, would add hundreds of thousands of more Jews and thus would change the face of reality.

Silberstein also noted the influence of Greater Jerusalem on the political status of Jerusalem as the metropolitan capital of Israel, with national and international power and significance, as is accepted in many capitals of the world.

Senior Middle East expert Baruch Yedid described for the participants of the tour what the eastern part of Jerusalem has been experiencing since the closing of Orient House, from where the PA functioned as a sort of independent government, more than twenty years ago. It was a step on the way to Israeli sovereignty in its capital, but many dozens and even hundreds of PA institutions have filled the vacuum created by the closing - foreign and hostile Arab organizations that work in many different areas, without Israeli approval and even against it.

Yedid described how the Palestinian Authority makes every effort to stake its hold in the eastern part of the city, using many institutions, but also by the residents of the eastern part of the city, who have blue identification cards. Among others, there is the "Palestinian governor" of Jerusalem, the PA minister of Jerusalem Affairs, the head of the Jerusalem Division in the "President's" office, the General Secretary of Fatah and many more residents of the eastern part of the city, among them, senior officers of the PA.

He also said that along with the PA, Islamic associations and NGOs also operate in the eastern part of the city, some of which have Turkish patronage and others, which function intermittently, are affiliated with Hamas or with the Islamic Movement in Israel, and the Northern Branch, which is illegal. Yedid noted that a number of terror attacks were funded by, or affiliated with, these organizations or their activists.

Israeli negligence, says Yedid, caused a number of events that have captured the public's attention, among them the crisis of the magnetometers, the opening of the Gate of Mercy internally and the events of Operation Guardian of the Walls. Yedid emphasizes that it is a religious struggle in every way, evidenced by the Muslim religious rulings issued by leading clerics on the struggle for holy land and holy places.

Yedid describes the difficult reality in which the European Union funds Palestinian plans to turn Jerusalem into a metropolitan Palestinian capital in preparation for the establishment of a Palestinian state, while the State of Israel and its authorities do not recognize the trends and the mood in eastern Jerusalem, which leads to Israel being surprised when there were thousands of Arab youths carrying Hamas flags on the steps of the al-Aqsa Mosque during Operation Guardian of the Walls.

According to him, "The State of Israel has demonstrated its enormous capabilities in facing the challenge of the hour, ever since its  establishment, but the existing government plans are not an answer for the lack of Israeli sovereignty in eastern Jerusalem. The time has come to wake up and fight for sovereignty in the capital, while repairing its 'many civil shortcomings'".

The co-chairwomen of the Sovereignty Movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, sum up the tour, seeing its two parts as complementing each other. "The tour's schedule combined the cure and the illness. Baruch Yedid revealed to us the severe phenomena arising from the lack of sovereignty in eastern Jerusalem, when foreign, hostile elements who incite terror against Israel fill the vacuum  created by the lack of sovereignty. On the other hand, Haim Silberstein presented us with the answer. Turning Jerusalem into a key political and national metropolis, spreading over a wide area, adding a significant part to the Jewish demographic character of Jerusalem, along with deepening the consciousness of sovereignty and governance in Jerusalem, are all part of the essential answer to the harsh reality that Baruch Yedid showed us".

The Sovereignty Movement views the series of tours for members and supporters as the completion and continuation of the series of tours that the movement has been holding for public opinion shapers and public figures, in which participants are exposed to the practical consequences of the lack of sovereignty and governance in large parts of the State of Israel.

The movement invites the public to participate in the tours that the movement will be holding in the coming weeks. The next tour is scheduled to be in Lod, as an example of how Jews are coping with the challenges in mixed cities, as well as strengthening the city's residents.
