לקראת יום העצמאות תשפ"ד

לחברינו היקרים,
מבט מיום העצמאות לשעבר ליום העצמאות הזה ומיום עצמאות זה ליום עצמאות הבא
עשרת ימי התשועה הם ימים של חשבון נפש.
חייבים אנו להסתכל אחור כדי להבין את גודל הישגנו משך 76 שנה:
עולם תורה ששוקם, גדל ועלה, עולם ההייטק, הסייבר, החקלאות, הרפואה, התעשיה
המשגשגים והם מופת ונס בעיני העולם כולו.
חייבים אנו להעמיק מבט אל המתרחש היום במדינה כדי שנדע להסיק את המסקנות הנכונות לימי המחר.
השנה התמונה בהירה יותר, ברורה יותר.
אנו מבחינים מי ידידינו ומי לצרינו,
רואים בכאב את חוסר ריבונותנו, את תכתיבי הארצות שסביבינו,
רואים אנו את החולשה שפשתה בין ראשי צבאנו הקדוש ששאבו תורת לחימה מבורות זרים,
ובמבט-על רואים את העולם המערבי המתפורר תחת כובד הפרוגרס.
אך יחד עם זאת
אנו רואים את העם חזק מכל מנהיגיו,
מתייצב ומתנדב לקריאה ההיסטורית של הצלת עמנו,
אנו רואים את חיילינו נכנסים לאש בגבורה כאריות,
רואים את נשות ישראל הגיבורות כלביאות,
אנו רואים הורים שנצח ישראל חשוב להם לא פחות מילדיהם הפרטיים,
בעינינו אנו רואים וכבר מזהים את מנהיגי העתיד.
יש לנו רבות לתקן כדי להיות ריבוניים בארצנו.
ראשית לכל לתקן את מערכות המשפט והחינוך,
לקדם עליה מאסיבית של יהודים מהגלות,
לשוב לערכי עבודה עברית,
לבנות עצמאות ישראלית כלכלית הנסמכת על תוצרת כחול לבן,
לבנות את ביטחוננו על כוחנו ברוח המכבים,
להסתפק במועט.
מתוך כל אלה ומתוך העמידה האיתנה מול אתגרי האומה
נזכה בעזרת ה' ל"אור חדש על ציון תאיר ונזכה כולנו מהרה לאורו"

As Independence Day 5784 (2024) approaches

To our dear friends,
Let us look from last Independence Day to this Independence Day, and from this Independence Day to next Independence Day.
These days of deliverance are days of introspection.
We must look back in order to understand the enormity of our achievement over 76 years: A world of Torah that was restored, grew and ascended; the thriving worlds of high-tech, cyber, agriculture, medicine, industry, that are a model and a miracle in the eyes of the entire world.
We must take a profound look at what is transpiring today in the country so that we will know how to draw the proper conclusions for the days to follow.
This year, the picture is clearer and more apparent.
We discern who our friends are and who our adversaries are.
We painfully observe our lack of sovereignty, the dictates of the countries that surround us.
We see the weakness that has spread among the heads of our holy army who draw their combat doctrine from foreign sources.
And from a broader perspective, we see the Western world crumbling under the weight of progressivism.
But at the same time,
We see the people stronger than all their leaders, standing firm and responding voluntarily to the historic call to save our nation.
We see our soldiers fearlessly entering the fire with the courage of lions.
We see the heroic women of Israel like lionesses.
We see parents for whom the eternity of Israel is no less important than their own children.
With our own eyes we can already identify the leaders of the future.
Yes, we have much to improve in order to be sovereign in our land.
First of all, to repair the justice and education systems;
to promote massive aliya of Jews from the Diaspora;
to return to the values of Jewish labor;
to engender Israeli economic independence based on blue and white products;
to base our security on our own power in the spirit of the Maccabees;
to be satisfied with little.
Through all these and through standing firm in the face of the challenges confronting the nation, we will be privileged, with the help of G-d that He will "shine a new light on Zion and we will all soon merit its light."
May we all have a meaningful Chag Atzma'ut, Independence Day,
Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar
