To our dear friends

 

The winds and welcome snow have caused  branches of a pine tree to fall on the tent where we hold events. It will not be possible to have our lecture tomorrow in the tent in its current condition.

The lesson is therefor postponed for a future date. We will report on other damage from the snow in the preserve at a later date and with your help we will, please G-d,  be able to restore everything to its prior condition as soon as possible.

The spirits of the team living in tents at Oz veGaon, including the one-year old baby,  is high and strong. Attached are pictures of todays' snow at Oz veGaon. The public is invited to come and visit.

This Shabbat we will read the Torah portion of Shemot and we will become acquainted with "The" leader Moshe and his leadership qualities.

1-      Moshe is our highest level prophet: "And there has not arisen another prophet in Israel like Moshe, who knew the Almighty face to face".

2-      Moshe the humble: "And the man Moshe is more humble than any man on the face of the Earth… Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh"

3-      Moshe and the Jewish bond: "And Moshe matured and went out to his people and saw their suffering (despite his having the status of a prince of Egypt)…and he saw an Egyptian man beating one of his Hebrew brothers, and he turned this way and that, and he saw that there was no one and he smote the Egyptian and buried him in the sand".

4-      Moshe, the judge among Jews "…behold, two Hebrew people  were fighting and he said to the evil-doer:   why are you beating your neighbor?"

5-      Moshe, the judge between peoples: Moshe stood up and rescued them, and watered their flock (Yitro's daughters' flock).

6-      Moshe challenges the Almighty for the rights of the Hebrew people: Why have you harmed this People…and have not rescued your People…  culminated by "And if not, erase me from your book"

האישה הנפלאה הזאת הלכה שלשום לעולמה שלמה ושלווה נפשית על מפעלה המונומנטאלי –"מאז ומקדם".

פגשנו אותה לפני כשנה בערך בעת ביקורה בארץ וכשנתנו לה ביד את כתב-העת שלנו "ריבונות", היא הצביעה על המילה "ריבונות" ואמרה לנו בזו הלשון באנגלית

"This is the only game in town"- כלומר "החלת הריבונות זה הדבר היחיד הנורמאלי שיש לעשות כדי לשמור על הארץ הזאת

 

ג'ואן הלכה עם האמת שלה עד הסוף, למרות שזה היה כרוך בשינוי תפיסת עולם שלה מקצה לקצה. היא ניפצה, בעבודה קשה ומפרכת, שערכה שנים רבות, את השקרים על מספרי האוכלוסיות שהיו בארץ טרם מלחמת העצמאות ובעיקר נפצה את מיתוס הפליטות, כאשר הביאה עובדות, נתונים ומספרים כיצד אונר"א וכן ההנהגה הערבית משמרים את הפליטות ומשתמשים בפליטים כנשק נגד ישראל.

 

ג'ואן שילמה מחיר כבד על מפעלה. אישים בשמאל, גם הישראלי, טענו שעבודתה אינה מבוססת על נתונים מדוייקים אך עמדו לצידה הסופרים ברברה טוכמן, אלי ויזל, רוברט סנט ג'ון וההיסטוריה.

ג'ואן פיטרס בראיון נדיר: ריבונות ישראלית הכרחית מול השקר הערבי

 

מחברת רב המכר 'מאז ומקדם' מנתחת בפשטות וברהיטות בראיון מיוחד ל'ריבונות' את המציאות המזרח תיכונית שבה מתנהלת ישראל וקוראת לעולם להתעורר מהשקר הערבי המגולם בצמד המילים 'מדינה פלשתינית'.

 

ספרה של העיתונאית היהודייה-אמריקאית ג'ואן פיטרס 'מאז ומקדם' (הוצאת הקיבוץ המאוחד) שגם אותו תרגם יפה אהרון אמיר, חולל טלטלה עמוקה והפך בתוך זמן קצר מרגע צאתו לאור לחלק בלתי נפרד מהשיח הפנים ישראלי סביב סוגיית ערביי יהודה ושומרון, הפליטים, אונר"א והסיכוי להסדר קבע בין ישראל לשכנותיה.

 

בימים אלה ממשיכה העיתונאית הנמרצת לכתוב ולגלות מעורבות במתרחש במזרח התיכון בכלל ובעימות הישראלי ערבי בפרט. בשנים האחרונות מקיימת פיטרס קשר של הערכה הדדית עם ראשי 'נשים בירוק', יהודית קצובר ונדיה מטר שהפנו אליה מספר שאלות על ספרה המיתולוגי, על ציונות וגם, איך לא, על ריבונות.

 

בראש ובראשונה ביקשו לשמוע מפיטרס על הסיבות שהובילו אותה לכתיבת הספר שחולל בה תפנית קיצונית מפעילת זכויות אדם שהגיעה לישראל כדי לתמוך בערביי הארץ ועד לעמדותיה כיום שהתפכחו לנוכח העובדות להן נחשפה במהלך כתיבת הספר.

 

כדי להשיב מעדיפה פיטרס היאחז בדברים שכתבה בספר עצמו. "התיאור עצמו נמצא בספרי "מאז ומקדם", וכדי שאוכל למנות את כל הסיבות שגרמו לי לקרוא תיגר על כל האמונות הקיימות לגבי ישראל והערבים עלי לצטט מספרי כדי להיזכר בשאלות באופן מדויק, ובכל אותן פרצות ב"היסטוריה" כפי שהיא נשאת על נס בידי "המומחים" העולמיים". 

 

פיטרס מזכירה כי בעברה לא הייתה ציונית, "לפחות לא עד שהמחקר שלי לימד אותי מדוע הציונות היא מפעל חיוני עבור אותם יהודים שמבינים שמדינת ישראל היא גם מבצרם וגם משוש חייהם לעד. תמיד הייתי פעילה נלהבת למען זכויות האדם. סייעתי בידי שחורים אמריקנים לממש את זכות ההצבעה שלהם, והשתמשתי במעט הידע שהיה לי אז כדי להשוות בין הערבים בישראל ובין שערוריית העבדות ולאחר מכן הגזענות ששררה בחלק ממדינות הדרום, כגון מיסיסיפי ודרום קרוליינה שבהן עבדתי. עם הזמן גיליתי, כמובן, כי ההשוואה הזאת היא מגוחכת ובלתי מדויקת בעליל, וכי קווי הדמיון נמצאים דווקא בין יהודי פלשתינה – היינו, יהודי ארץ ישראל מאז ומקדם – ובין השחורים של אמריקה, שתי קבוצות שנמצאו תחת דיכוי בר-השוואה".

 

אונר"א מתעתע בעם היהודי ובעולם כולו

 

נתח מרכזי מספרה מקדישה פיטרס לשירות שמעניק ארגון זכויות האדם של האו"ם 'אונר"א' להנצחת הפליטות הערבית, פליטות שהפכה לחלק בלתי נפרד מהמאמצים לקעקוע דמותה של ישראל בעיני העולם ובעיני עצמה. נשים בירוק מבקשות מפיטרס התייחסות עדכנית לארגון שנועד להשכין שלום בעולם אך בסופו של יום מחזק את החפצים בהשמדתה של ישראל.

 

"אונר"א מבצע הונאה כנגד העם היהודי וכנגד העולם מאז שהפך לארגון "הפליטים" היחיד שפועל למען קבוצה אחת בלעדית של פליטים בעולם. הפליטים הערבים שברחו או שנעקרו בזמן מלחמת השחרור מנו קבוצה קטנה בהשוואה למאות מיליוני העקורים כתוצאה ממלחמות וחיכוכים. כמו כן, מספרם של אותם ערבים שנעקרו מבתיהם היה קטן לאין ערוך ממספר הפליטים היהודים שנולדו בארצות ערב שנאלצו לנוס על נפשם.

 

ברם, רק הערבים זכו לספירה חוזרת ונשנית בכל מחנות הפליטים". פיטרס מוסיפה ומזכירה בדבריה כי "ההונאה והזיופים חזרו ונשנו, כפי שהעידו חברי קונגרס אמריקנים, והדבר התאפשר הודות לצוות של אונר"א המורכב, כמעט באופן מוחלט, מעובדים ערבים". 

 

האם קיים סיכוי שהעולם יתפכח ויתעורר להיכרות עם האמת ההיסטורית והמעשית? יש משהו שממשלת ישראל ומדינת ישראל צריכות לעשות כדי לקדם את רגע ההתפכחות הזה?

"העולם ראה מעט מן האמת ב-1967, כאשר ישראל אחזה במושכות והביעה במעשים את זכותה ואת עוצמתה. כיום, דעתי היא שיש לפעול ביתר כוח וביתר שאת בשם אותה אמת, כדי להשמיד את נגע החמאס-דאעש-אש"ף-חיזבאללה שפושה בגבולותינו. מדוע דאעש נתפס כאיום עולמי, בעוד חמאס-דאעש מקבל הנחות וזוכה לאמפתיה בזמן שישראל והיהודים יוצאים למתקפה בניסיון להגן על ארצם מפני הרעה השטנית הזאת?", תולה פיטרס שאלה בחלל האוויר.

 

ולסיום עולה שאלת הצורך, כן או לא, בריבונות ישראלית ביהודה ושומרון ובקעת הירדן וגם כאן תשובתה של פיטרס נחרצת: "יכולה להיות רק מדינה ריבונית אחת, והיא מדינת ישראל, אשר לה הזכות על חבל ארץ זה כפי שנקבע על ידי כל הגורמים: הצהרת בלפור, חבר הלאומים, הנשיא טרומן ואף האו"ם. כולם. מימין ומשמאל...".

 

לדבריה "כל טענה באשר היא כלפי העם היהודי – כולל סוגיית יהודה ושומרון – הינה שקרית וחתרנית.  האם כל קבוצה אחרת שתתבע את זכותה להיות עם – למשל, תביעתה של כנופיית באדר-מיינהוף שברלין וסביבותיה תוכרז כמדינת מיינהוף מאז ומקדם – האם גם אליה יש להתייחס ברצינות? רעיון "המדינה הפלסטינית" הוא נלעג לא פחות. יש כאן היסטוריה שקרית וטענות שקריות – המנסות לחקות את ההיסטוריה הלגיטימית והמוצדקת של העם היהודי".

The People of Israel parts from a heroine.

 

This wonderful woman passed on the day before yesterday,  at peace with her monumental work, From Time Immemorial.

We met with Joan about a year ago during her visit to Israel and when we gave her our journal, Sovereignty, into her hands, she pointed out the word "Sovereignty" and told us "This is the only game in town" – and explained "application of sovereignty is the only normal thing to do in order to keep a hold on this Land".

 

Joan Peters went the entire way with her truth, despite the fact that it entailed a total change in her world view. With her difficult and taxing work, which took many years, she shattered, in her words, the lies about the size of the population that was in the Land before the War of Independence and she especially shattered the myth of the refugees, as she brought facts, data and numbers showing how UNRWA as well as the Arab League artificially maintain the refugee status and use the refugees as a weapon against Israel.

 

Joan Peters paid a heavy price for her work. People on the Left, including some Israelis, claimed that her work was not based on accurate data, but authors Barbara Tuchman, Elie Wiesel and Robert St. John stood by her side, as well as history.

 

The People of Israel are extremely grateful for her work and dedication to the People and the Land of Israel. May her memory be blessed.

Joan Peters in a rare interview: Israeli sovereignty is indispensable in light of the Arab fraud

In an exclusive interview with Sovereignty, journalist Joan Peters,
author of the best-seller, From Time Immemorial, analyzes reality in
the Middle East both clearly and eloquently and calls on the world to
recognize and reject the Arab fraud embodied in the words 'Palestinian
state'.

From Time Immemorial, with its profound insights, quickly became an
integral part of the internal Israeli discourse on subjects ranging
from Arabs of Judea and Samaria, refugees and UNRWA to the chances of
a final agreement between Israel and her neighbors. The energetic
journalist still writes about the situation in the Middle East, in
general, and the Arab-Israeli conflict, in particular. Women in Green
leaders, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, met Joan Peters some time
ago and stayed in touch. Towards the publication of Sovereignty Issue
number 4, they asked Peters some questions about her seminal book,
about Zionism, and, of course, about sovereignty.

What made you decide to write your book and how did you come to
realize the truth was different than what you originally thought?

Peters explains how she started out writing from the perspective of a
human rights activist - who came to Israel to support the Arabs in
Israel. "I was not a Zionist, or rather, not until my research taught
me why Zionism is imperative to Jews who understand that Israel is
forever our protection and our joy.  I was an ardent civil rights
activist helping to register Black Americans to vote, comparing what
little I knew of the Arabs in Israel to the outrage of slavery and
then racism as it existed in places in the South--Mississippi and South
Carolina, where I worked.  Of course, as I learned, the analogy was
preposterous, incorrect, and the accurate analogy was the Jews of
Palestine--Palestinian Jews from time Immemorial--and the Blacks of
America, are comparably oppressed." She refers us back to the book for
the description of what brought her to "challenge all of the gospels
about Israel and the Arabs - I'd have to recite from my book to
adequately recount the questions, the gaping holes in the fraudulent
'history' as presented by all the world's 'experts'."

In your opinion, what are the chances that the world will finally wake
up to the truth? Is there something that the government of Israel
should do to promote this awakening?

"The world saw a bit of the truth in 1967, when Israel took the reins
and asserted its right and its strength. Today I believe that the same
power of truth and strength must be asserted overwhelmingly to destroy
the Hamas-ISIS-PLO-Hezbollah, etc. blight on Israel's borders. Why is
it that ISIS is clearly seen as a threat to the world while murderous
Hamas-ISIS is given more or less a pass on sympathetic grounds when
Israel and Jews attack, defend and attempt to protect their country
from the monstrous scourge?"


UNRWA is deceiving the Jewish People and the entire world

Peters devotes a large part of her book to the manner in which the
United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA, perpetuates the refugee
status of  Arabs who were displaced, or left voluntarily, during the
War of Independence. This has become an integral part of efforts to
undermine Israel's standing in the eyes of the world and in its own
eyes. Women in Green asks Peters to relate to this organization,
which, although its stated purpose is to bring peace to the world,
actually strengthens those whose goal is to destroy Israel.

"UNRWA has been perpetrating fraud against the Jewish nation and
against the world since they became the only 'refugee' organ solely
dedicated to one group of the world's refugees.  The Arab refugees,
who really ran or were displaced during Israel's War of Independence,
were a small group when compared to the world's hundreds of millions
displaced during wars and strife.  The Arabs were also a much smaller
actual number than the Jewish Arab-born refugees forced to flee from
Arab countries.  But the Arabs were counted over and over, going back
and forth from the refugee camps. As American congressmen have
attested, fraud was committed constantly, aided by the almost totally
Arab staff in the UNRWA employ."

And of course, last, but most importantly: What do you think about the need to apply Israeli Sovereignty over Judea and Samaria and the
Jordan Valley and what should Israel do with the Arabs who will live
there after it applies sovereignty?

"There only can be one sovereign Jewish Israel in its rightful land as
delineated by everything from the Balfour Declaration to the League of
Nations,  from Churchill to President  Truman and the UN, from left to
right.............

Any and all other claims to the Jewish nation--including Judea and
Samaria-- are specious at best and fraudulent.  Would a claim to
peoplehood by any group--say, the Baader Meinhof  claim to Berlin and
environs as the Meinhof State from time immemorial-- be taken
seriously?  No less open to ridicule should be the "Palestine Arab"
state.  Faked history, fake claims, all imitating the legitimate and
rightful national history of the Jewish people."

הכנות לשלג בעוז וגאו"ן ועידכונים

 

ביום שישי הקרוב ב9:00 בבוקר אנו אמורים להפגש בעוז וגאו"ן לשיעורו של הרב חיים שטיינר, ר"מ בישיבת מרכז הרב על הנושא: באיזה תנאים מותר לגויים לגור בארץ ישראל (הלכתית). בעקבות מזג האוויר- שימו לב לפרסומים שלנו.

 

ההכנות בעוז וגאו"ן בעיצומן לקראת השלג שיירד בע"ה בימים הקרובים. השלג עלול לנתק את הצוות הנחוש השוהה בשמורה  לכמה ימים מחשמל ומאפשרות יציאה מהמקום  ולכן נאגר אוכל ומים, שמיכות, בגדים חמים, האוהלים חוברו לגנרטורים ולחימום גז, עצים נקנו לקמין, דלק לגנרטורים, שרשראות לרכב החירום בשמורה, פנסים, בטריות והמון תקוה ותפילה בלב שהאוהלים וכל הציוד ביער יחזיקו מעמד עם הרוחות העזות והקור העז האופייני  לגוש עציון.

Oz veGaon Prepares for Snow & Updates

 

     This coming Friday at 9:00, please G-d, we are supposed to meet at Oz veGaon for a shiur with Rabbi Haim Steiner of the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva on the subject: under what conditions (according to Jewish law) may non-Jews dwell in the Land of Israel.

Because of the weather-please follow our updates by email.

 

        Preparations for the snow that is expected in the next few days,please G-d, are at their peak at Oz veGaon. The snow may cause power outages for several days, and deprive the dedicated team that stays at the preserve of electricity and the possibility to leave the place. Therefore we have stocked up on food and water, blankets and warm clothes. The tents are hooked up to generators and gas heating, wood has been bought for the stove, fuel for the generators, chains for the emergency vehicle at the preserve, flashlights, batteries and we hope and pray that the tents and all of the equipment will stand up to the conditions in the forest with the strong winds, snow and bitter cold that are characteristic of Gush Etzion.

 

Visits: last week there were the following visits at Oz veGaon:

 

-         MK Orit Struck. MK Struck has accompanied the development of Oz veGaon since its very first days and comes to visit every so often.  MK Orit Struck also promotes laws to have sovereignty over Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley. We thank MK Struck and wish her luck in the upcoming election to continue to work for the settlement enterprise throughout the land of Israel.

 

-         50 students from AIPAC as part of the intensive program to prepare them to be hasbara ambassadors for Israel

 

-         The Sussya Field School led by the tour guide Doron Saravi, who marveled at the place and gave an explanation of the ancient Jewish history that occurred right at Oz veGaon, very near biblical Migdal Eder

 

-         Students from schools, girls' ulpanot and yeshivas continue to come every week to work at the preserve. The schedule for the summer is beginning to fill up. Register soon with Elyashiv Kimhe, manager of the preserve – Tel: 054-2007354

 

-         A new safe for the Torah scroll was bought and is waiting to be dedicated in memory of relatives

 

-         Flooring has been added so that we can broaden the scope of our summer events. Donations are welcome.
