The EU is planning a vote in support of a Palestinian state . Our friends at the Toronto Zionist Council have posted an internet petition that will be presented to the EU Parliament before the vote.
They need as many signatures as possible as soon as possible.

מצווה מן התורה להחיל ריבונות על ארץ ישראל.
הרב איסר קלונסקי מתלמידיו של הרב צבי יהודה קוק זצ"ל נשלח על ידו לשמש ברבנות בשכונת גבעת מרדכי בירושלים. בצה"ל שירת בסיירת של חטיבת ירושלים, במסגרתה השתתף במלחמות ישראל.
היה מהפעילים המרכזיים בגוש אמונים, שותף לעליה לחברון, במהלך המאבק נגד הנסיגה מסיני שימש כרב ב"חצר אדר" שפיתחת רפיח.
היה בין מקימי אולפנת צביה שהתפתחה לרשת של אולפנות וישיבות.

Friday in oz veGaon- Tuesday in Shdema
1)Oz veGaon:
This coming Friday December 12th at 9:00 am Rabbi Isser Klonsky, Rabbi of Givat Mordechai, will give a lecture in Oz veGaon on the topic: The Torah Commandment to apply Sovereignty over Eretz Yisrael.
Rabbi Isser Klonsky, talmid of Rabbi Zvi Yehuda Kook, was sent by him to be in the Rabbanut in Givat Mordechai, Jerusalem. In the IDF Rabbi Klonsky served in the commando unit of the Jerusalem Brigade, in which he participated in the wars of Israel.
He was one of the main activists in Gush Emunim, partner to the aliya to Hevron and during the battle against the withdrawal from Sinai he served as Rabbi of "Hatzer Adar" in Yamit.
He was one of the founders of Ulpanat Zvia that turned into a chain of ulpanot and yeshivot.
A lecture not to be missed. Come one come all!

ביום שישי הקרוב י"ג כסלו 5/12 בשעה 9:00 בבוקר נשמע בע"ה את הרצאתו של שלמה בן שלום על הנושא "על גשמים ומורידי גשמים". שלמה בן שלום הוא מדריך טיולים, מוותיקי מגדל עוז שנרתם לעזרת הקמת השמורה בעוז וגאו"ן , ומגיע בשבתןת לתפילות שבת לחיזוק המניין יחד עם עוד חברים ממגדל עוז. כולם באים !

חיי היום יום
חיי היום יום בעוז וגאו"ן נכנסו לשגרה של חורף. ב"ה האוהלים עמדו בגשמי הברכה של שבוע שעבר, מלבד כמה הצפות והפסקות חשמל שגרמו לחושך ולקור.
מדי יום מגיעים ב"ה קבוצות תלמידים מרחבי הארץ ללמוד ולעבוד בשמורה .
אירועים
משפחות מקיימות במקום אירועים. לפני שבועיים חגגה משפחת לוריא מפני קדם בר מצוה לבנם ליאם יחד עם כ200 אורחים. מזל טוב! חוויה בלתי נשכחת לכל המוזמנים.
קבוצות
כמוכן הגיעה קבוצה של 120 בנות מאולפנת כפר פינס שעבדו והכשירו שטח לקמפינג בקיץ. בו-זמנית היתה גם קבוצה של עשרות בנות מאולפנת קרית ארבע חברון שעבדו באזור אחר של השמורה. בעוז וגאו"ן מתקיימים גם קורסי הדרכה להגנה עצמית שלאור המצב, כל אחד חייב לעבור.
אישי ציבור :
לפני כמה ימים הגיעה ח"כ גילה גמליאל יחד עם ראש המועצה דודידי פרל וסגנו משה סביל. ח"כ גמליאל מאד התרשמה מהשמורה והביעה תקווה שהמקום יהפוך למרכז תיירות שוקק .
חנוכה
היכונו לאירועי חנוכה בעוז וגאו"ן! פרטים בקרוב-שריינו כבר את שישי בבוקר בעוז וגאו"ן .

Friday at Oz veGaon with Shlomo Ben Shalom
This Friday
This coming Friday, the 13th of Kislev, December 5, at 9:00 in the morning, G-d willing, we will hear Shlomo Ben Shalom's lecture on the topic "On Rain and Rain-makers". Shlomo Ben Shalom is a tour guide and one of the original residents of Migdal Oz. He rallied to our aid in establishing the nature preserve Oz veGaon and comes on Shabbat to the Shabbat prayer services at Oz veGaon to reinforce the minyan, together with other members of Migdal Oz. Come one come all to the lecture.

Everyday Life
Life in Oz veGaon has assumed a winter routine. Thank G-d the tents have stood the blessed rains of last week, except for a few floodings that need fixing and at times it was dark and cold due to power outages. Almost every day, thank G-d, groups of students from throughout Israel come to learn and work at the preserve.
Events
Families hold events at the site. Two weeks ago, the Luria family from Pnei Kedem celebrated their son's Bar Mitzvah along with approximately 200 guests. Congratulations! An unforgettable experience for all of the guests.
Groups
Likewise, a group of 120 young women came from the Kfar Pines religious school for girls, and worked to prepare the area for next summer's camping. Simultaneously, there was a group of tens of girls from the Kiryat Arba Hevron school who worked in another area of the preserve. At Oz veGaon there are also courses for self-defense that everyone should take, in light of the situation.
Public Figures
A few days ago, MK Gila Gamliel came together with Council Head Davidi Perl and his deputy, Moshe Saville. MK Gamliel was very impressed with the preserve and expressed the hope that the place would become a lively center of tourism.

שישי בעוז וגאו"ן עם רותי גיליס
ביום שישי הקרוב נארח בע"ה בעוז וגאו"ן בשעה 9:00 בבוקר את רותי גיליס, אלמנתו של ד"ר שמואל גיליס הי"ד, המטולוג בכיר בהדסה עין כרם.
בראש השנה תשס"א, ספטמבר 2000, פרצה ברחבי הארץ האינתיפדה השנייה. כמעט מדי יום פגעו ערבים ביהודים.
ביום חמישי, ח' שבט, 1 בפברואר 2001, סיים ד"ר גיליס את עבודתו בבית החולים בשעה 7 בערב, ויצא לעבר ביתו בכרמי צור.
כמאה מטרים לפני מחנה הפליטים אל ערוב עקף אותו רכב ובו מחבלים. הם ירו לעברו צרור, ואחד עשר קליעים פגעו ברכבו. ד"ר גיליס נפגע באורח קשה מאד, וכשכוחות ההצלה הגיעו אליו, דקות ספורות לאחר מכן, הוא כבר לא היה בחיים. ד"ר גיליס נטמן בבית העלמין בכפר עציון. לוויתו, בה השתתפו אלפים, יצאה מבית החולים הדסה עין כרם. כתגובה לרצח, הוקמה בכרמי צור שכונה חדשה בשם צור שלם, בתוך ימי השבעה.
רותי גיליס אינה נותנת לכוחות החושך לנצח. היא מרבה אור. יחד עם אוסי ששון, אלמנתו של צחי ששון הי"ד שנרצח בדרכו הביתה לראש צורים שבוע אחרי שמואל , היא הקימה בצומת גוש עציון , פינה חמה לחיילים, ובה מוגשים שתייה חמה, עוגות לחיילי צה"ל ולכוחות הביטחון. הפינה החמה בצומת היא גם יוצרת פינה חמה בלב של חיילינו על כל מפעל ההתיישבות.
חיילינו זוכים לפינוקים ויחס מפנק ומחבק מהצוות הנפלא המתנדב שעות רבות מכל הלב וכל הנשמה.כן מתקיימים בפינה החמה אירועים שונים, כמו הדלקת נרות חנוכה משותפת לחיילי צה"ל ולתושבי גוש עציון[.
רותי היא דוגמא אישית ל"ובחרת בחיים" לכיצד להרבות אור בעולם.

Friday at Oz veGa'on with Ruthi Gillis
This coming Friday, G-d wiling, at 9:00 in the morning, we will host Ruthi Gillis, widow of Dr. Shmuel Gillis, who was a senior hematologist at Hadassah Ein Kerem, may G-d avenge his blood.
On Rosh HaShanah, 5761, September 2000, the second intifada broke out throughout Israel. The Arabs were attacking Jews almost every day. On Thursday, the 8th of Shvat, February 1, 2001, Dr. Gillis had finished his work in the hospital and at 7:00 in the evening proceeded toward his house in Karmei Tzur.
Approximately one hundred meters before the El-Arub refugee camp, a vehicle with Arab terrorists inside passed him. They shot a volley of bullets at him, and eleven bullets hit his car. Dr. Gillis was very severely wounded, and by the time emergency medical staff reached him, a few minutes later, he had already passed away. Dr. Gillis was buried in the cemetery at Kfar Etzion. His funeral procession, which was attended by thousands of people, began from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. In response to the murder, a new neighborhood was established in Karmei Tzur, by the name of Tzur Shalem, during the first seven days of mourning.
Ruthi Gillis does not allow the forces of darkness to be victorious. She acts to increase the light. Together with Ossi Sasson, the widow of Tzahi Sasson HY"D, who was murdered on his way home to Rosh Tsurim a week after Shmuel, she established the "Pina Chama" at the Gush Etzion Junction, a warm place for IDF soldiers and other members of the security forces to relax, where they are served hot drinks and cakes. This "warm corner" at the Junction also creates a warm place in our soldiers' hearts for the entire settlement enterprise. Our soldiers get some well-deserved pampering and warm attention from the wonderful staff, people who volunteer, with all of their heart and soul, for many hours. Various events also take place at the Pina Chama, such as group candle-lighting during Hanukah, as residents of Gush Etzion take part along with the IDF soldiers.
Ruthi is a personal model of "you shall choose life" in how to spread light in the world.
