בע"ה ביום שישי הקרוב, ג' שבט תשע"ה, 23/1/2015 בשעה 9:00 בבוקר נשמע את הרצאתו של ד"ר גבי ברקאי על הנושא "סינון עפר מהר הבית".

 

ד"ר ברקאי ארכיאולוג, בעל תואר דוקטור מאוניברסיטת תל אביב.
מרצה במחלקה ללימודי ארץ ישראל וארכיאולוגיה באוניברסיטת בר-אילן. במשך קרוב ל-30 שנה עבד באוניברסיטת תל אביב.

ברקאי הוא מומחה חשוב לארכיאולוגיה של ירושלים וחלק גדול מפעילותו נעשה בירושלים. אחראי לאחד הממצאים הארכיאולוגיים החשובים ביותר בעיר בעשורים האחרונים אם לא החשוב שבהם - קמיעות הכסף של כתף הינום. הקמיעות הללו הן העדות הראשונה ובינתיים היחידה לכך שפסוקים מהמקרא היו מוכרים כבר בימי בית ראשון.

ד"ר ברקאי מנהל כיום את פרויקט סינון עפר החפירות שהוצא על-ידי הווקף המוסלמי מהר הבית.

Friday at Oz veGaon with Dr. Gabi Barkai

 

This coming Friday, the 3^rd of Shevat 5775, January 23^rd, 2015 at 9:00 in the morning, we will hear Dr. Gabi Barkai's lecture on the subject of "Filtering the dust from the Temple Mount".

Dr. Barkai is an archaeologist, with a doctorate from the University of Tel Aviv. He is a lecturer in the Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology in Bar Ilan University. He has worked in the University of Tel Aviv for almost 30 years.

He was awarded the Jerusalem Prize for Archaeology in 1996.

Barkai is a prominent expert in the archaeology of Jerusalem and a great part of his work is done in Jerusalem. He is responsible for one of the most important archaeological finds in the city of Jerusalem in recent decades, if not the most important – the silver amulets of Ketef Hinom. These amulets are the first, and at present the only, evidence that biblical verses were already known in the days of the First Temple.

Dr. Barkai now manages the project of filtering the dust that resulted from the excavation carried out by the Muslim Waqf in the Temple Mount.
