It is exciting and refreshing to know that we have the kind of youth that is happy to take upon itself, proudly and courageously, the challenge of the generation – to learn about our exclusive rights to the Land of Israel, to know how to respond to the lies that are spread here in Israel and abroad, and to act toward the complete fulfillment of the vision of sovereignty.

לחץ מדיני וטרור – שתי זרועות של צבת אחת

הפיגוע הרצחני בירושלים מקבל רוח גבית ומעודדת מהניצנים הראשונים של לחץ מדיני על ממשלת ישראל לנסיגות וויתורים.
 
שוב מרימים ההסתה והטרור את ראשם.

רצף הפיגועים וניסיונות הפיגועים הגיע לשיא עם הירצחו של אליהו דוד קיי הי"ד. יחד עם עם ישראל כולו אנו כואבים את כאב האבדן ומתפללים לרפואתם ושלומם של פצועי הפיגוע.

האויב הערבי ממשיך להניח את ירושלים במרכז שאיפותיו והוא עושה זאת בכל דרך, בין אם בזירה דיפלומטית-מדינית ובין אם בזירה הטרוריסטית.

שתי הזרועות מבקשות ללפות את ישראל ולאלץ אותה לסגת ממקור חיותו של עם ישראל, אך העם איתן מאוחד סביב אחדותה של ירושלים וריבונותו עליה.

נראה שמאמצי הממשל האמריקאי ללחוץ על ממשלת ישראל להקים קונסוליה עבור הפלשתינים בירושלים,

יחד עם החייאת רעיון המדינה הפלשתינית על ידי חלק משרי הממשלה והמהלכים לחיזוק כלכלת הרש"פ, מפיחים שוב רוח חיים בתקוות הערבים להקים מדינה על חורבות ישראל.

תקווה זו היא המנוע המוביל את גלי הטרור המרימים ראש בשבועות האחרונים.

במענה ציוני הולם והכרחי על ממשלת ישראל להתלכד סביב התבטאויותיהם הפומביות והחד משמעיות של ראש הממשלה נפתלי בנט, שר החוץ יאיר לפיד ושר המשפטים גדעון סער, ולפיהן קונסוליה אמריקאית בירושלים לא תקום.

במקביל מתחזקת דווקא כעת דרישתנו ליישום תכנית 'ירושלים רבתי' שתרחיב את גבולה של ירושלים מכל עבריה ותבהיר לעולם כולו את עוצמת אחיזתה המתחזקת של מדינת ישראל בבירתה הנצחית.

לירושלים נשא עם ישראל עיניו לאורך אלפיים שנות גלותו, לארץ ציון ירושלים כסף וייחל גם בימיו הקשים ביותר.

כעת, בימי פריחתה של האומה, אל לנו להרפות ידינו מאחיזתנו בה, אל לנו לגלות חולשה.

 

דווקא כעת עלינו להעצים את הקשר ההיסטורי והמעשי לעיר, להמשיך ולבנות את קומת הזהות היהודית של עם ישראל בארצו, ולתת בכך מכה של ממש לתקווה הערבית לראות בחורבנה חלילה של ישראל.

בבניין ירושלים וארץ ישראל ניבנה וננוחם!

Political Pressure and Terror – The Two Arms of the Pincers

The murderous terror attack in Jerusalem got a tailwind and encouragement from the first signs of political pressure on the Israeli government to make concessions and withdrawals.

Incitement and terror are again raising their heads.

The sequence of terror attacks and attempted terror attacks has reached a peak with the murder of Eliahu David Kay, hy"d.

We feel the pain of loss along with the entire People of Israel and pray for the healing and well-being of those injured in the terror attack.

The Arab enemy continues to place Jerusalem at the center of its aspirations and it does so in every possible way, whether in the political-diplomatic arena or by terrorism.

These two arms seek to seize Israel and pressure her into withdrawal from the People of Israel's life source, but the People is strong and united around the unity of Jerusalem and Israel's sovereignty over it.

It seems that the efforts of the American administration to pressure the Israeli government to establish a consulate for the Palestinians in Jerusalem, together with the revival of the idea of a Palestinian state on the part of some ministers in the government and the steps to strengthen the PA economically, are breathing new life into the Arab hopes of establishing a state on the ruins of Israel.

This hope is the engine driving the wave of terror that has been raising its head in recent weeks.

As an appropriate and vital response, the Israeli government must unite around the unequivocal public statements issued by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Minister of Justice Gideon Sa'ar, that an American consulate will not be established in Jerusalem.

At the same time, we must increase our demand to implement the plan for Greater Jerusalem - to expand Jerusalem's borders on all sides, an act which will make clear to the entire world the State of Israel's increasing hold on her eternal capital.

The People of Israel has looked longingly toward Jerusalem for two thousand years of exile; it longed for the Land of Zion, Jerusalem, during its most difficult days.

Now, as the nation is blossoming, we must not weaken our hold on her, we must not show weakness.

Especially now, we must strengthen our historic and practical connection to the city, continue to build the layer of the People of Israel's Jewish identity in its Land,

and in doing so, deal a real blow to Arab hopes to see Israel's destruction, G-d forbid.

May we be built up and consoled by the building of Jerusalem and the Land of Israel!

In light of encouraging developments in Israel and disturbing developments in the United States, we will not resume the protest vigils in Jerusalem. We will focus our activity opposite the White House and again raise the demand for Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.

ביום רביעי הקרוב נתייצב בע"ה שוב יחד, למעלה מ-20 ארגונים אוהבי ירושלים וארץ ישראל, בשעה 17:00 ברחוב אגרון למשמרת השלישית במאבקנו נגד פתיחת הקונסוליה האמריקאית לפלשתינים.

בו-זמנית תתקיים משמרת בניו-יורק ע"י חברינו מארגון AFSI.

את המשמרת נקיים כשברקע דבריהם הברורים והצלולים של ראש הממשלה שהכריז כי קונסוליה שכזו לא תקום בירושלים ושל שר החוץ, יאיר לפיד, שתמך בעמדתו זו.
אכן, הכרזותיהם של השניים מעודדות מאוד ומהוות מענה לדרישה הראשונה שנשאנו במשמרות המחאה עד כה – אמירה נחושה של ראש ממשלת ישראל נגד המהלך האמריקאי.

אך עדיין לא הגיע המענה לדרישתנו השנייה, זו המופנית כלפי נשיא ארה"ב, ג'ו ביידן, 'הסר את ידיך מירושלים". כל עוד לא נשמעה דרישתנו זו בבית הלבן וכל עוד לא נענה לה הנשיא האמריקאי במפורש, אנו צפויים למסכת לחצים מאסיבית מכיוון הממשל.

גם אם יופעלו מנופי הלחץ על ממשלת ישראל מאחורי הקלעים ובחדרים סגורים, עלינו לזכור כי ממשל ביידן שם לו למטרה להחזיר אל הבמה המדינית את הרעיון המסוכן של שתי המדינות. עלינו לשמור על דריכות והקשבה לכל רחש חשוד מכיוון הבית הלבן. לשם כך אנו מצויים בקשר רציף עם חברי קונגרס שאצבעם מונחת כל העת על הדופק. יחד איתם ואתכם נבלום כל מגמה הרסנית שכזו.

את המשמרת הקרובה נקיים מתוך מגמה אחת חשובה: להוכיח לראש הממשלה ולשרי הממשלה שמאחורי ההכרזה הברורה נגד פתיחת הקונסוליה מתייצב עם ישראל באופן איתן, נחוש ומסור.

בעניינה של ירושלים אין מחלוקות פוליטיות והעם כולו, ימין ושמאל, מחזק את ידי ראש הממשלה.

בנוסף עלינו לעמוד על המשמר ולוודא כי הצהרת ראש הממשלה אינה באה בתמורה חלילה להסכמה ישראלית לוויתור במקום אחר על ריבונותה של ישראל בירושלים.

*נקודה חשובה שיש להדגיש*: התנגדותנו אינה רק לפתיחת קונסוליה אמריקאית בירושלים. גם פתיחת קונסוליה שכזו באחת מערי הרש"פ משמעותה הכנה לשגרירות במדינה פלשתינית עתידית, חלילה.

די לרש"פ לקבל שירותים נצרכים בנציגות האמריקאית הקיימת. אין כל צורך בקונסוליה על משמעויותיה המדיניות והסמליות.

ארצות הברית העריכה בעבר והיא מעריכה גם כעת מנהיגים ועמים העומדים על עקרונותיהם ושומרים על האינטרסים הלאומיים שלהם. כך היה בימיהם של בן גוריון, אשכול, בגין ושמיר. כך יהיה גם כעת.

*מסר חשוב נוסף שנעביר ביום רביעי הוא: לא די בהצהרות. המבחן הוא במעשים!*
את המסר הזה נבטא ב *סיור מקדים* שנקיים ביום רביעי בכמה מהמקומות בהם אנו מצפים לראות מעשים של ממש שיוכיחו את ריבונותה של ישראל בירושלים המאוחדת.

Wednesday rally and preliminary guided tour to Atarot and Shimon Hatsaddik

Dear friends,
Shalom.

This coming Wednesday, we will please G-d, rally together again, more than 20 organizations of lovers of Jerusalem  and the Land of Israel, at 5:00pm on Agron Street for the third vigil in our struggle against the opening of an American consulate for the Palestinians.

Simultaneously, a vigil will be held in New York, organized by our dear friends from AFSI, Americans for a Safe Israel.

We are holding the vigil with as background the clear and unequivocal remarks by the Prime Minister, who declared that such a consulate shall not be established in Jerusalem as well as remarks by Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, who supported this position.

Indeed, it is very encouraging that they have made such declarations and these remarks constitute a response to the first demand that we have been making at the  protest rallies – for a resolute statement by Israel's Prime Minister against the American move.

But there still has not been a response to our second demand to U.S. President Biden, "Keep you hands off Jerusalem". As long as this demand of ours has not been heard by the White House and as long as it has not been answered explicitly by the American President, we can expect continual, massive pressure from the administration.

Even if the pressure applied on the Israeli government is behind the scenes and behind closed doors, we must remember that the Biden administration has made it a goal to restore the dangerous idea of two states to the diplomatic stage.

We must remain alert and listen to every suspicious sound coming from the White House.

For this reason, we are in constant contact with members of Congress  who have the fingers on the pulse all the time. Together with them and with you, we will block any such disastrous step.

We will hold the upcoming vigil with one important aim: to prove to the Prime Minister and cabinet ministers that the People of Israel is standing strong, resolute and dedicated, behind the clear declaration against opening the consulate. 

In the matter of Jerusalem, there is no political dispute and the entire People, Right and Left alike, strengthen the Prime Minister's hand.

Also, we must remain vigilant to assure that the Prime Minister's declaration has not come in exchange, G-d forbid, of an Israeli agreement for concessions in some other matter on Israel's sovereignty in Jerusalem.

Another point must be emphasized: Our opposition is not only to the opening of an American consulate in Jerusalem. Even opening such a consulate in one of the cities of the PA would be a preparatory step for an embassy for a future Palestinian state, Heaven forbid.

The PA receives services for their needs in the existing American mission. There is no need for a consulate, with its political and symbolic implications.

In the past, and now as well, the United States has respected leaders and peoples who stand on their principles and preserve their own national interests.

This is how it was in the days of Ben Gurion, Eshkol, Begin and Shamir. It will be this way now as well.

*Another important message that we will be conveying on Wednesday is: Declarations are not enough. The real test is with deeds!*

We will convey this message with a tour that we will hold on Wednesday before the vigil, in some of the places where we expect to see real deeds to prove Israel's sovereignty in a united Jerusalem.

We will visit the neighborhoods of Shimon Hatzadik and Atarot, two neighborhoods in desperate need of Jewish building that the government of Israel is obligated to uphold, from a strong and proud Zionist position.

We will be departing from the Inbal Hotel at 12:00 noon for the special tour, which we will be holding together with the If Keep Jerusalem- Im Eshkachech movement under the leadership of Haim Silberstein.

The tour will be led by tour guide Shalom Pollack, and at 4:45pm, we will join the start of the vigil on Agron Street. The number of places is limited. By pre registration only!!  050-5500834
