יומן לוד 12 שביעי של פסח תשע"ב
כל הארץ דגלים דגלים.
בשבועיים האחרונים התקשטו רחובות העיר בדגלי ישראל, במקביל לתוספת התאורה הצבעונית על המסגדים ומרפסות בתי הערבים לכבוד חודש הרמאדן, ואנו- בפתחו של חג העצמאות.
הבאתי את שרשרת הדגלים שלנו משבי שומרון ללוד.
ולרגע היססתי, האם נכון לתלותם על סורגי החלון הגדול בביתנו,
האם נכון לסמן את עצמינו?? אולי זה מיותר, אולי אוותר הפעם?
ואז צף וחזר לי ההסבר ששמעתי בערב החג בשאלה על סימון הדם במשקופי בתי היהודים במצרים ערב מכת בכורות, דקה לפני יציאת מצרים.
וכי היה צריך הקב"ה ומלאכיו את הסימון הזה, לא ידעו הם היכן בתי היהודים?
ודאי שידעו.
תושבי הבתים הם שהיו צריכים את הסימן הזה, בפעולת מריחת הדם על המשקוף, הם סימנו את רצונם לצאת מבית עבדים לחירות, את השותפות והאמונה בה' ובמשה עבדו, זו היתה הצהרת העצמאות שלהם, וידוע שהיו מי שבחרו אחרת, שנשארו במצרים, שלא סימנו את משקופי ביתם.
ואז הבנתי. כן! אני מסמנת את ביתי בדגל ישראל בגאווה מוצהרת.
כאן גרה משפחה יהודית!!
ממהרת לתלות את הדגלים והם מתנפנפים ברוח. יורדת לחצר ומצלמת אותם, מתרגשת מהמראה הנשקף לרחוב, חוזרת לסלון הבית והם מחייכים אלי בחזרה.
זוקפת את קומתי, שואבת כח וגאווה ממראה הדגלים במרפסת ביתי.
כן, שמחה להיות מסומנת כיהודיה, כאן בלוד ולשיר בכל יום:
הדגל שלי הוא כחול ולבן אתמול היום וגם מחר!!
בירושלים, בתל אביב, בשבי שומרון וכן, גם בלוד תשפ"ב..

Lod Journal 12, the seventh day of Pesach 2022
*There are flags, flags, the entire Land is covered with flags.*
For the past two weeks, the streets of the city were decorated with Israeli flags, along with the colorful lighting on the mosques and balconies of Arab homes in honor of the month of Ramadan, and we – are about to celebrate our Holiday of Independence.
I brought our group of flags from Shavei Shomron to Lod.
And I hesitated for a moment, as to whether it was right to hang them on the bars guarding the large window in our house,
Whether it was right to identify ourselves?? Perhaps not, perhaps I will skip it this time?
And then I suddenly remembered the explanation that I heard on the eve of the holiday about the question regarding the sign of blood on the doorposts of the Jewish homes in Egypt on the eve of the plague of the first-born, just before the exodus from Egypt.
And whether the Almighty and his angels needed the sign – did they not know where the homes of the Jews were?
Of course they knew. It was the ones who lived in the homes who needed this sign of identification, in spreading the blood on the doorpost, they signified their desire to leave slavery for freedom, their participation and faith in the Almighty and His servant Moses; it was their declaration of independence, and we know that there were those who chose otherwise, who remained in Egypt, who did not mark the doorposts of their homes.
Then I understood. Yes! I will proudly mark my home with an Israeli flag.
A Jewish family lives here!!
I hurry to hang the flags and they flutter in the wind. I go out to the yard and photograph them; I am moved by the sight looking out on the street and return to my living room and they smile back at me.
I stand up straight, drawing strength and pride from the wonderful sight of the flags on my balcony.
Yes, I am happy to be identified as a Jewess, here, in Lod and to sing every day:
My flag is blue and white, yesterday, today and tomorrow!!
In Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Shavei Shomron and yes, also here, in Lod, 2022.
