ביום שישי הקרוב, י"ז בטבת 20/12 בשעה 9:00 נארח בשדמה בע"ה את פרופ' רפאל ישראלי שירצה על הנושא "מהאביב הערבי לחורף המוסלמי".
פרופ' רפי ישראלי, יליד מרוקו, הוא מזרחן ומומחה לאסלאם, פרופסור אמריטוס ללימודי האסלאם, המזרח התיכון וסין באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים ובאוניברסיטת חיפה וחבר וועדת ההיגוי של "המרכז לחקר מדיניות" שבאריאל.
ב-2004 העיד פרופסור רפאל ישראלי בבית המשפט המחוזי בחיפה כנגד התנועה האסלאמית בראשות השייח' ראאד סלאח, כי "קיימת זהות אידאולוגית בין התנועה בהנהגת השייח ראאד סלאח לבין תנועות האחים המוסלמים וחמאס, היות שהתנועה האיסלאמית חותרת נגד המדינה ושואפת להשמדתה" (המשפט הסתיים בהרשעת התנועה ומנהיגה במגע עם סוכן זר ובמתן שירות להתאגדות בלתי מותרת).

FRiday in Shdema with Prof. Raphael Israeli
This coming Friday December 20 at 9:00 am, in Shdema, we have the pleasure and honor to host Prof. Raphael Israeli.
Prof. Raphael Israeli , is an Israeli academic, Professor of Islamic, Middle Eastern and Chinese history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a member of the steering committee of the Ariel Center for Policy Research.
Israeli was born in Fes, Morocco and emigrated to Israel at the age of 14. He received a degree in Arabic and History from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and became a fellow of the Center of Chinese Studies at the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned an M.A. degree in East Asian History and a Ph.D in Chinese and Islamic History. Israeli is fluent in Hebrew, Arabic, English, and Chinese.
Among Prof. Israeli many publications is the book: Dangers of a Palestinian State.(Gefen publishing 2002)
In 2004 Professor Raphael Israeli testified in the Haifa District Court against the Islamic Movement led by Sheikh Raed Salah, and said that "There is an ideological identity of the movement led by Sheikh Raed Salah and the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, as the Islamic movement strives against the state and seeks its destruction" (The trial ended with a conviction of the movement and of its leader , accused of having contact with a foreign agent, and providing service to an unlawful association).
Prof. Israeli will talk in Shdema (in Hebrew) about the topic: From the Arab spring to the Islamic Winter.
