היושבת מעל צומת גוש עציון על מנת להציב עוד נקודה עם נוכחות יהודית באזור

 

כך היה מאז ראשית הציונות. ארץ ישראל נקנית בדם ובייסורים.

 

הגבעה נמצאת בסמוך למגדל עדר ההיסטורית, בתוך יער סמוך לבית פג'אר, על אדמות מדינה עם תב"ע מאושרת.

עשרות העולים ניקו את בית היערן הנטוש והתישבו במקום בקריאה להחיל מיד את הריבונות על חברון וגוש עציון תחילה.

לקריאה זו מצטרפים גם חוג הפרופסורים לחוסן מדיני וכלכלי בראשות פרופ' אריה אלדד וכן מטות ערים.

 

ראש מועצת גוש עציון דוידי פרל וסגנו משה סביל הגיעו לברך. ראש המועצה אמר: "תשובתנו היא חד משמעית ונחושה-נמשיך להתרחב ולבנות כאן ועכשיו.

נבנה פה ישוב חדש. ועוד ישובים בימים הקרובים. נאחז, נבנה ונתנחל

 

מפקד המשטרה והצבא ביקרו במקום והבטיחו שמירה.

 

הבוקר תתקיים תפילת שחרית ב6:00 בבוקר.

בשעה 10:00 מוזמן הציבור לשיפוץ המקום ושהייה .

 

דרך הגעה: להגיע לצומת הגוש ולפנות לכיוון מגדל עוז ובית פג'אר. לפנות ראשון ימינה על דרך העפר המוליך ליער.

Settling and Sovereignty is the Zionist Answer – Hevron and Gush Etzion First

 

As a Zionist answer to the despicable murder of our three boys, a pioneering group of Jews headed by Women in Green went up to Givat Oz – a hilltop overlooking Tzomet HaGush – in order to create a new Jewish presence in the area. As since the beginning of Zionism, the land of Israel is sometimes built with blood and tears. The hill is adjacent to the historical community of Migdal Eder, which was dismantled in 1927, in a forest near to Bet Fajjar, on approved State land. The pioneers cleaned out an abandoned structure on the site and settled it, calling upon the government to immediately apply sovereignty, starting with Hevron and Gush Etzion. This call was made by the Women and Green, together with the Professors for a Strong Israel, headed by Aryeh Eldad and Matot Arim.

 

Davidi Perl, mayor of Gush Etzion, together with his deputy, Moshe Savil, came to bless the new Givat Oz endeavor. The mayor said, "Our answer is clear and determined – we will continue to expand and build here and now. Here we will build a new community and many more in the near future. We will build and settle and hold strong to the land."  The local police chief and army commanders came to visit and promised to safeguard the place.

 

This morning there will be Tefilat Shacharit at 6am. At 10am the public is invited to come and help refurbish the building  (painting and cleaning).

 

Directions: Drive to Tzomet HaGush and turn toward Migdal Oz and Bet Fajjar. After a few hundred meters turn right onto the dirt path and continue up into the forest.

ביום שישי הקרוב ו' תמוז 4/7 בשעה 9:00 בבוקר נשמע את הרצאתו של פרופ' מרדכי ניסן .

 

פרופ' ניסן הוא מרצה וחוקר ללימודי המזרח התיכון באוניברסיטה העברית. כתב ספרים ומאמרים רבים בעברית ובאנגלית. בשנת 2011 כתב את הספר: "רק ישראל מערבה לירדן: המדינה היהודית והשאלה הפלשתינית".

 

פרופ' ניסן ירצה על פתרון מדינה אחת עד לירדן. הרצאה מבוססת על נתונים דמוגרפיים ומשפטיים.

Friday in Shdema with Prof. Mordechai Nissan

 

This coming Friday July 4^th at 9:00 am we will come to Shdema and hear a lecture by Prof. Mordechai Nissan.

 

Prof. Nissan is a Professor and cholar on Middle East studies at the Hebrew University. He wrote many books and essays in Hebrew and English. In 2011 he wrote his book: "Only Israel West of the River. The Jewish State and the Palestinian Question".

 

Prof. Nissan will talk about the One-State solution till the Jordan River. A lecture based on legal and demographic facts.

 

Come one come all. The lecture is in Hebrew with simultaneous translation to English.

 

Shdema is a military base located between Har Homa and Tekoa.

Abandoned by the IDF in 2006. Arabs, aided by international anti-Israeli NGO's , have set their sight on the hill in order to interrupt the Jewish continuity between Jerusalem and Gush Etzion. In 2010, after Women in Green and the Committee for a Jewish Shdema got involved intensely, the IDF returned to Shdema. Women in Green and the Committee for a Jewish Shdema have been active in Shdema for the past six years to intensify the Jewish presence at the site.

 

Shdema is accessible by private vehicles. Organized rides will be provided based on preregistration not later than Thursday 1:00pm!

FRIDAY IN SHDEMA with Prof. ADAM ZERTAL – The FOOTPRINTS

 

Huge footprints were discovered and researched in different areas  - in the Jordan valley, in the river Tirza and on Mount Ebal want. According to Prof. Adam Zertal these footprints are related to the settlement of the tribes of Israel and their shape has an ideological significance.

On these fascinating findings and their significance we will please G-d hear in Shdema this coming Friday June 27^th by Prof. Adam Zertal whom we have the pleasure and honor to host in Shdema for the second time.

Adam Zertal (born 1936) is an archaeologist, Professor Emeritus of Archaeology of the Land of Israel and the ancient Near East at the University of Haifa. Lecturer at Kinneret, and for many years leading the archeological digs at Mount Menashe. Zertal became famous to  the general public following the excavation site on Mount Ebal, in which he discovered Joshua's altar.

Gush Etzion Junction – Vibrant and Teeming with Life

 

Flags, signs, soft drinks, candies, soaps, car horns beeping in solidarity, traffic tie-ups, smiles, excitement…

Am Yisrael Hai - The People of Israel Lives.

 

Last Friday Women in Green went out to Gush Etzion Junction to support the soldiers and the many hitchhikers who are undeterred by terror and continue proudly to demonstrate a Jewish presence and sovereignty.

 

With amazing timing, a convoy of cars and motor cycles organized by the Im Tirzu movement passed through the junction.

 

The signs that Women in Green carried with the passage "thus the People will arise as a lion" became a reality right in front of our eyes.

Nothing can compare to the People of Israel when it is unified.

 

With hope and prayers for good tidings of the return of our sons Naftali Frankel, Gil-ad Sha'ar, Eyal Yifrach.

 

Be strong – be strong and of good courage

We will not Give in. We will Continue to Hitchhike

The objective of terror is to disrupt life's routines and to sow dread and fear among the public. Therefore we will not give in, and we will continue to hitchhike in Judea and Samaria – with increased awareness and minimizing risks as much as possible. That is why you, car owners, must take hitchhikers even for short rides.  In this way we will become a kinder society

The criticism of hitchhiking in Judea and Samaria has two basic flaws: the first is not recognizing reality. Just as a religious arbiter must be acquainted with the reality of a matter before he says what seems to him to be the word of G-d – anyone who expresses himself on a specific subject should understand it well.

It seems that those who oppose hitchhiking are simply not acquainted with reality: they are not aware of the need to move from one place to another, the lack of proper public transportation, and the culture of mutual support that exists in our communities. And therefore, many of the things that are said do not pass the test of reality.

The second flaw is the hypocrisy and manipulation of the moral arguments. The same people who, to make a total distinction between a righteous person and an evil one, claim that one should not criticize a woman who was attacked in any way, and she must not be blamed even if she herself behaved flirtatiously and seductively – have no problem saying that if someone is harmed because he was hitchhiking, he bears the responsibility for it. I have said many times that a moral argument is harmed the most when it is used only when it supports your point of view, but not used when it contradicts your point of view.

But above all it is important to have the basic awareness of our lifestyle in every part of the Land of Israel. The objective of terror is not to achieve a great number of casualties, and it can exist even without casualties. The objective of terror is to disrupt the normal routines of life, and to sow dread and fear among the public.

We Will Continue to Hitchhike

More than anything else, the victory over terror will be achieved by society not surrendering to it, and not allowing it to disrupt the normal routines of life. Society continues as it was, and this conveys the message that nothing will break it, and that the attempts at terror will be met with a wall of determination and resilience.  As a result, it is very reasonable to assume that we and our children will continue to hitchhike in Judea and Samaria. This is proper, and this is the reality of how we live during our times.

In light of this, we must ask ourselves what we can do within this framework of principles in order to maintain our well-being and that of others, and in order not to bring about complicated events such as that which we are experiencing these days. It is as if we are speaking of two things of which we must be aware.

First, awareness and striving for safety and security. There is no reason why we should not be more cautious; to regard a ride suspiciously when we are not acquainted with the occupants; to note whether they seat us in the front seat, despite the fact that there are others in the back seat, and so forth. There is no commandment from the Torah to endanger life, and we did not choose a way of life that may harm ourselves, or take unnecessary risks.

Also, there is no prohibition against taking public transportation when it is available, and there is no commandment from the Torah to roam around the streets at late hours. When necessary – we do it, but we may also weigh the benefits of normalcy against the costs, and the benefits of convenience against the possibility that great pain may result.

But the main principle is directed especially toward the car owners: Your great contribution to minimizing the danger of hitchhiking will be when we take upon ourselves anew to pick up hitchhikers, a lot of them. Even if they are annoying; even if they talk on the telephone; even if they behave as if they are in charge; even if it is not pleasant for us; even when it is for short distances.

The more we ourselves decide to behave according to the commandment of the Torah – "And your brother will live too", and as required by simple humanity we are more responsive to the needs of others – the more, with positive deeds, we will succeed in significantly minimizing the number of those at risk on the roads.

There is nothing more correct than asking ourselves what we can do in order to contribute to connecting our lives with a natural courtesy, together with refraining from endangering ourselves, thereby also changing our society into a more benevolent society.

יום אחד מצאה חבילת מכתבים בגרמנית. לאחר פיענוח המכתבים גילתה יוכי שאמא שלה עלתה עם הקינדר טראנספורט מהמבורג לאנגליה-

דבר שאמא מעולם לא דברה על כך.

 

מכתבים אלה פתחו צוהר לחיי האמא וכן לטרנספורט הילדים.

 

בוקר מרגש שאסור לפספס....

 

לאחר ההרצאה בשדמה ניסע כולנו לצומת גוש עציון לחזק את החיילים ואת הטרמפיסטים. נא להביא ממתקים סגורים, שתייה קרה וכל דבר שנראה לכם מתאים לחיילים.

Friday in Shdema with Yochi Shimon – A personal discovery about the Kindertransport

 

Our friend Yochi Shimon from Alon Shvut was born in kibbutz Chafetz Chaim. Together with her husband Yitzhak they were among the first pioneers in Kiryat Arba Hevron. One day Yochi found a box with letters in German. After having the letters translated , Yochi discovered

that her mother had been on the Kindertransport from Hamburg to England.

These letters opened a world of information that Yochi's mother had never talked about...

 

A fascinating lecture not to be missed. Lecture is in Hebrew with simultaneous translation to English.

 

After Shdema we will drive to the Gush Etsion intersection to show support for the soldiers and the hitchhikers. Please bring along closed treats, cold drinks and anything else suitable for the soldiers.

 

We turn to Hashem in prayer and ask: Hashem,  may the incredible achdut (unity) that your people has been showing in these difficult days  bring upon the return of our missing boys in good health.

מרגש לראות אותם ממשיכים להפגין אומץ לב ולמעשה הופכים, כל טרמפיסט וטרמפיסטית, לחיילים במערכה ההיסטורית על ארץ ישראל.

עמידתם ,כאשר הם חשופים בצידי הדרכים, מפיחה רוח וכוח הן בכוחות הביטחון והן בנוסעים בכבישים.

 

הנוכחות היהודית בצירי הדרכים והאמירה העולה ממנה "לא נסתגר בתוך הישובים" היא בעלת חשיבות ומשמעות אדירה מאין כמותה.

זו ארצנו וכולה שלנו ובצמתי הדרכים נערינו מפגינים הפגנת ריבונות אדירה.

 

עם זאת נדגיש את חובת כל אחד ואחד מאיתנו לנהוג על פי כללי הזהירות ונברך על יוזמתו של רב המועצה האזורית שומרון, הרב אליקים לבנון, יוזמת 'הסיסמא היהודית'.

 

הנוער בטרמפיאדות מחנך את כולנו מהי תחושת ריבונות ושייכות לארץ, ועימו נקרא לקידומו של הפתרון והמענה הראוי והכולל לאירועי הטרור כולם - החלת הריבונות הישראלית על כלל שטחי יהודה שומרון ובקעת הירדן.  ריבונות תביא לנוכחותנו בכל מקום ותשים סוף להפקרות המאפשרת קיומו של טרור ערבי.

 

תנועת "נשים בירוק" תצא ביום שישי  הקרוב לטרמפיאדות בצומת גוש עציון לחזק את הטרמפיסטים ואת חיילי צה"ל באזור.

התנועה קוראת לכל עם ישראל להגיע לצומת גוש עציון בשעה 11:00 לתחילת הפעילות.

 

ב9:00 בבוקר תתקיים הפעילות השבועית בשדמה. מייל נפרד עם פרטים ישלח בע"ה הערב.

Hearts Beating as One and Hurray for the Hitchhikers

There are days when the collective hearts of the People of Israel beat together as one heart, as one soul. That is how it is on days of great joy and also at times of misfortune and sorrow.

This unified and cohesive beat gives the People of Israel an uncommon degree of stamina and strength, and that is how it is with the leaders of the People, the IDF and security forces and especially the families of the abducted youths.

The joint prayers of the People of Israel in the Land of Israel and in the rest of the world for the return of the youths connect us with our Father in heaven, the Rock of Israel and its Redeemer:

May He who blessed our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Aharon, David and Solomon, defend and protect the abducted youths:

Ya'akov Naftali ben Rachel-Devorah, Gilad Michael ben Bat-Galim, Ayal ben Iris-Teshora

And quickly return them to their homes, healthy and whole in body and soul.

Please G-d, be with the soldiers. Protect them. Defend them. Give them wisdom, understanding and knowledge. Lead them to find the path straight to the terrorists and destroy them. Be true to your words: "I will pursue my enemies and overtake them and I will not return until they are destroyed". And may they have the merit of returning the abducted youths to their homes healthy and whole. Amen and amen.

Hurray for the Hitchhikers!

 

Our hearts swell and fill with pride at the sight of the youths, healthy in spirit and soul, as they continue to stand at the hitchhiking stations fearlessly and continue their usual routine. By their presence at these stations our youths make the practical declaration: This is our home and this is our Land!

It is moving to see them continuing to act so courageously and each and every hitchhiker, male as well as female, actually become soldiers in the historic battle for the Land of Israel… by standing there exposed at the sides of the roads they boost the spirit and strength of the security forces and the travelers on the roads.

The Jewish presence in the traffic arteries and the statement it makes that "We will not close ourselves inside our communities" has a unique importance and meaning. This is our Land and all of it is ours and by doing this our youth are making a tremendous demonstration of sovereignty at the traffic junctions.

Despite this, we stress the obligation that we all have, to behave cautiously and we bless the initiative of the Rabbi of the Samaria Local Council, Rabbi Elyakim Levanon, who created "The Jewish Password".

The youths in the hitchhiking stations teach us all about the sense of sovereignty and belonging to the Land, and together with them we will call for the suitable and inclusive solution, which is the answer to all of the terror  incidents – application of Israeli sovereignty over the entire territory of Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley. Sovereignty will bring about our presence in all places and will put an end to the abandon that allows Arab terror to exist.

The Women in Green movement will go to the hitchhiking stations of Gush Etzion this coming Friday to support the hitchhikers and the soldiers of the IDF in the area. The movement calls on the  People of Israel to come to the Gush Etzion Junction at 11:00 AM for the beginning of the activity.

Our weekly Shdema activity will take place at 9:00 am as usual. A separate email will be sent tonight with details.
