צעדת ליל תשעה באב ה-24
בהשתתפות השר לענייני ירושלים, ח"כים, יו"ר המפלגה הרפובליקנית בישראל, אישי ציבור ואלפי אזרחים תתקיים גם השנה הצעדה המסורתית סביב חומות ירושלים בליל צום תשעה באב.
בפעם ה-24 ברציפות תקיים השנה תנועת 'נשים בירוק' את הצעדה המסורתית סביב חומות ירושלים בליל תשעה באב. כמדי שנה יתקיים האירוע בהשתתפות אישי ציבור ורוח, חברי כנסת ואלפי אזרחים מכל רחבי הארץ.
בשנה זו תתקיים הצעדה במוצאי שבת, ליל צום תשעה באב (הנדחה) , ה-21.7.2018. האירוע יחל בהתכנסות המונית בגן העצמאות שברחוב אגרון בבירה, ששם תתקיים קריאה משותפת של מגילת איכה ומיד לאחריה תשמיע הפובליציסטית והעיתונאית קרוליין גליק, סגנית עורך הג'רוזלם פוסט, דברים והצעדה תצא לדרך.
את מהלך הצעדה, בה יישאו המשתתפים מאות דגלי ישראל, ילוו הסבריו ההיסטוריים של ההיסטוריון אריה קליין, מומחה לתולדות ירושלים בעת החדשה ובעת העתיקה.
מסלול הצעדה יכלול מעבר דרך השער החדש, שער שכם ושער האריות שם תתקיים עצרת בהשתתפות אישי ציבור שיישאו דברים, ומשם תמשיך הצעדה לעבר שער האשפות אל הכותל המערבי.
בין הדוברים בעצרת המסכמת של האירוע יהייו השר לענייני ירושלים ומורשת, זאב אלקין, סגן שר הביטחון, חבר הכנסת הרב אלי בן דהן, חבר הכנסת מיקי מכלוף זוהר, המשנה לראש עיריית ירושלים דב קלמנוביץ', ראש רבני 'דרך אמונה' הרב ברוך אפרתי, יו"ר המפלגה הרפובליקנית בישראל עו"ד מרק צל ויו"ר תנועת 'אם תרצו' מתן פלג.
בתנועת 'נשים בירוק' מביעים שביעות רצון מכך ש"בניגוד לשנים שעברו, בשנה זו לא נרשמו התנגדויות כלשהן של הציבור הערבי או להבדיל של גורמים במשטרת ישראל". בתנועה מזכירים כי "בשנים קודמות היו ניסיונות לסכל את מהלך הצעדה או להסית אותה ממסלולה הקבוע, הן מטעמי ביטחון או מטעמי חשש לסדר הציבורי. ניסיונות אלו", אומרים בתנועה, "נדחו על ידי בית המשפט שהורה למשטרה לאפשר את קיומה של הצעדה ולאבטח אותה מבלי להתייחס לאיומים מצדם של פורעי חוק וטרוריסטים". עוד מציינים ב'נשים בירוק' כי "ההיערכות המשטרתית והנחישות של מארגני ומשתתפי הצעדה הובילו לקיומה לאורך כל השנים באין מפריע, ללא חיכוכים או עימותים כלשהם בין יהודים וערבים".
ראשי התנועה, יהודית קצובר ונדיה מטר, מזכירות כי הצעדה שהפכה למסורת מהווה למעשה חידוש של מסורת עתיקה שהתקיימה בירושלים לפני מאות שנים בליל תשעה באב, אך נקטעה ברבות השנים. "בשנת 94' נחשפו רות ומיכאל מטר, מייסדי תנועת 'נשים בירוק', למנהג העתיק של הקפת חומות ירושלים בליל תשעה באב. ככלה המסובבת את חתנה מקיף עם ישראל את הר הבית ומביע את כיסופיו למקום. בתנועה הוחלט לחדש את המנהג. בשנה הראשונה נתקל הרעיון בהתנגדות המשטרה. הסוגיה הונחה לפתחו של בג"ץ שהורה למשטרה לאפשר את קיומה של הצעדה הנערכת מאז מדי שנה".
"הצעדה מהווה נדבך נוסף ביישומה בפועל של ריבונות העם היהודי על בירתו הנצחית, ירושלים", דברי קצובר ומטר המדגישות כי "ריבונות עם ישראל על כל מרחבי ארצו מתחילה ונבחנת בריבונותו על בירתו".
עוד מציינות השתיים בדבריהן לשבח את פעילותה של משטרת ירושלים לקראת הצעדות. "משטרת המחוז מקדישה כוח אדם רב, משאבים ומחשבה על מנת לצלוח את הצעדה בבטחה ופעילות זו מוכיחה את עצמה ומניבה תוצאות בשטח. כמו כן ראוי לציין ולברך על שיתוף הפעולה המרשים וההבנה ביננו, כמארגנות הצעדה, לבין קציני המשטרה המודעים לחשיבות האירוע ולערך שמירת החוק שבעצם קיומו של האירוע".
הצעדה תיפתח בשעה 21:30 בהתכנסות הצועדים לקריאת מגילת איכה משותפת ובשעה 22:00 תצא הצעדה עצמה. שעת סיום משוערת: 24:00.

תנועת הריבונות-מיסודה של "נשים בירוק"
The 24th Annual Walk of Tisha B'Av Eve
Along with the Minister for Jerusalem Affairs, MKs, the head of the Republican Party in Israel, public figures and thousands of citizens, the traditional walk around the walls of Jerusalem on the eve of the fast of Tisha B'Av will take place again this year.
This year, the walk will take place on Saturday night, on the beginning of the fast of Tisha B'Av, (postponed one day because of Shabbat) on July 21st, 2018.
The event will begin with a gathering at Gan Ha'atzma'ut on Agron St. in the capital, where there will be a reading of the Scroll of Lamentations and immediately afterward, publicist and journalist Caroline Glick, deputy editor of the Jerusalem Post, will speak and the walk will then set out on its way.
The walk, in which hundreds of Israeli flags will be carried, will include explanations and historical information delivered by Aryeh Klein, an expert in both the modern and ancient history of Jerusalem.
The route of the walk will include passing the New Gate, the Shechem Gate, and the Lions Gate, through which the paratroopers entered to liberate the Old City in 1967, where an assembly will be held with the participation of public figures who will speak at the site, and from there the walk will continue past the Dung Gate to the Western Wall.
Among the speakers at the concluding assembly will be Minister for Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage Ze'ev Elkin, Deputy Minister of Security MK Rav Eli Ben Dahan, MK Miki Makhlouf Zohar, Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem Dov Kalmanovich, the head of Derech Emuna rabbis Rav Baruch Efrati, Chairman of the Republican Party in Israel Atty. Mark Zell and Chairman of Im Tirzu, Matan Peleg.
Women in Green is pleased to report that "this year, in contrast to previous years, no objection has been registered by the Arab public or from the Israel Police". In previous years there have been attempts to prevent the walk or to change its traditional route, whether for security reasons or out of concern for keeping the public order. "These attempts", says Women in Green, "were rejected by the court, which instructed the police to allow the walk to proceed and to secure it regardless of threats of riots or threats by terrorists". Women in Green also notes that "the preparedness of the police and the resolve of the organizers and participants of the walk have kept it running over the years without pause, without friction or any conflicts between Jews and Arabs".
The co-chairwomen of the movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, remind us that the walk, which has become a tradition, is actually a restoration of an ancient tradition that was held in Jerusalem hundreds of years ago on the eve of Tisha B'Av, but was suspended for many years. "In 1994, Ruth and Michael Matar, the founders of Women in Green, became aware of the ancient tradition of walking around the walls of Jerusalem on the eve of Tisha B'Av. As a bride, who circles around her groom, the People of Israel encircles the Temple Mount, expressing its longing for the place and its loyalty to Jerusalem. The movement decided to renew this custom. In its first year, the idea was met with the objections by the police . The matter was placed before the High Court, which instructed the police to allow the walk to proceed and it has been held every year since then".
"The walk is another step in the actual implementation of the sovereignty of the Jewish people over its eternal capital, Jerusalem," Katsover and Matar say, stressing that "the sovereignty of the people of Israel over all of its Land begins with its sovereignty over its capital."
The two women also have praise for the way the Israel Police deals with the march. "The district police dedicates a lot of personnel, resources and thought so that the walk will take place safely and this dedication has proven itself and its effectiveness in the field. It is likewise appropriate to note and give thanks for the impressive spirit of cooperation and understanding between us as the organizers of the march and the police officers, who are aware of the event's importance and the value of maintaining law and order, which is the very essence of the event.
The event will begin at 9:30pm with a gathering of the participants for Maariv & the reading of the Scroll of Lamentations and the walk will set out at 10:15pm after hearing Caroline Glick. The estimated time of conclusion is midnight.
