בתנועת הריבונות רואים בחומרה את הדיווחים בתקשורת לפיהם הסכם עם סעודיה יבוא בתמורה להשהיית החלת הריבונות לעוד ארבע שנים. במכתב ששלחו הבוקר (רביעי) לראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו כותבות ראשי התנועה כי ריבונות לא יכולה להיות קלף מיקוח מדיני מכיוון שמדובר בנשמת האומה. לטענתן הפיכת הריבונות לקלף מדיני עוקרת מליבו של עם ישראל את נשמתו, את כוחו ואת צדקת דרכו על ארצו.

Sovereignty Movement to Netanyahu: 'Delaying Sovereignty would be a disaster'
The Sovereignty Movement reached out to Prime Minister Netanyahu after reports of a potential agreement with Saudi Arabia that would involve a delay in the application of sovereignty.
"Using sovereignty for political leverage strips from the Jewish people its soul, strength and the justice of its cause over its Land.
"Those who live in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley witness daily how the Arabs are seizing control over all of Area C with the clear intention of establishing a de facto Palestinian state. That is why delaying the application of Sovereignty for four more years would be an unmitigated disaster."
"In the Middle East only countries who steadfastly uphold their principles and do not turn their back on their own heritage, history and land will earn honor and respect."
