יושבות ראש תנועת הריבונות, יהודית קצובר ונדיה מטר, מגיבות בערוץ 'טוב' לתנאי הכרוך בהסכם בין ישראל לסעודיה, לפיו נדרשת השהייה של ארבע שנים בהחלת הריבונות
על פי הדיווחים, מתגבש בימים אלה הסכם בין ישראל לסעודיה. אלא שפרסומים לא רשמיים חושפים כי אחד מהתנאים להסכם הוא השהייה של ארבע שנים בהחלת הריבונות.
יהודית קצובר ונדיה מטר, יושבות ראש תנועת הריבונות, רואות את הצד החיובי: גם סעודיה וגם האמירויות רואות בריבונות משהו ערכי וחשוב.
עם זאת, טוענת קצובר כי אנו עדיין שבויים בתפיסה מפא"יניקית של 'עוד דונם ועוד עז', שהייתה נכונה לימי טרום המדינה, אך כעת יש לעלות מדרגה: "ברגע שאין ריבונות – אנחנו נתפסים ככובשים וכל העולם מתייחס אלינו בצורה הזו".
למי שתוהה מהי החלת ריבונות, המשמעות פשוטה: החלטת ממשלה על כך שאיזור מסוים שייך למדינת ישראל.
בתנועת הריבונות מתמקדים כעת בהחלת ריבונות על בקעת הירדן שיש עליה קונצנזוס רחב מימין ומשמאל.
נדיה מטר מבהירה כי התנועה מתנגדת נחרצות לתנאי ההשהיה שדורשים הסעודים, ואומרת: ״למה צריך למכור את אמא שלך בשביל דף חתום שלא ברור מה יהיה איתו אחר כך?!״
היא מזכירה גם את הסכם אוסלו שבספטמבר נציין 30 שנים לחתימתו, ואומרת: "הנזק שלו היה כל כך גדול שהתיקון מוכרח להיות החלת הריבונות".

The leaders of the Sovereignty Movement: The time has come to Move from Oslo to Sovereignty
The co-chairwomen of the Sovereignty Movement, Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, react to the conditions of the agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, which require a delay of four years in the application of sovereignty.
According to reports, an agreement is now being formulated between Israel and Saudi Arabia. But unofficial sources reveal that one of the conditions of the agreement is a delay of four years in the application of sovereignty.
Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, the co-chairwomen of the Sovereignty Movement, do see the positive side: Both Saudi Arabia and the Emirates view sovereignty as something valuable and important.
However, Katsover claims that we are still bound by the "Mapainik" ( Labor) concept of 'one more dunam and one more goat' [Translator's note: this refers to a tactic of gradual, step-wise accrual of land and assets], which was correct for the days before the establishment of the state but now, we must go to the next level: the lack of sovereignty results in our being perceived as occupiers and the entire world relates to us in this way".
To those who wonder what the application of sovereignty is, the answer is simple: a governmental decision that a specific area belongs to the State of Israel.
The Sovereignty Movement is now focusing on the application of sovereignty over the Jordan Valley, which enjoys a broad consensus on the Right as well as the Left.
Nadia Matar explains that the movement vehemently opposes the condition to delay demanded by the Saudis, saying: "Why must we sell our mother for a signature on a sheet of paper, whose future is unclear?"
She also mentions the Oslo Accords, the 30th anniversary of whose signing will be marked this September, saying: "The damage that it caused was so great that its repair must be the application of sovereignty."
