ביום שישי ב' אייר, 2/5 בשעה 9:00 נפגוש את יוחנן בן יעקב אשר נולד בכפר עציון. אביו יעקב קלפהולץ נפל ב1948 בקרבות על הגנת גוש עציון.
יוחנן נמנה עם מייסדי כפר עציון המתחדשת אחרי מלחמת ששת הימים. ממייסדי בית ספר שדה כפר עציון. היה חבר בצוות תחקיר פרשת הל"ה. כתב ספרים רבים בעיקר על גוש עציון.
יוחנן ירצה על הנושא "מורשת ההתיישבות והמערכה בגוש עציון.

ננטש ב2006. ערבים ופעילים בינלאומיים לוטשים את עיניהם לגבעה כדי לנתק את הרצף היהודי בין ירושלים לגוש עציון. ב2010, לאחר פעילות אינטנסיבית של נשים בירוק והועד למען שדמה יהודית, צה"ל חוזר לשדמה. חברי נשם בירוק והועד למען שדמה יהודית פועלים בשדמה כבר שש שנים להגברת הנוכחות היהודית במקום.

Friday in Shdema with Yochanan Ben Yaakov
On Friday, 2/5 hour at 9:00 am in Shdema we will meet Yohanan Ben Yaakov, who was born in Kfar Etzion.
His father, Yaakov Klapholtz, fell in 1948 in defense of Gush Etzion.
Yohanan was among the founders of the renewed Kfar Etzion kibbutz after the Six Day War. He was also among the founders of the Kfar Etzion Field School. Ben Yaakov was a member of the team that investigated the Lamed Hey story. He wrote many books mainly about Gush Etsion..
Yohanan will lecture on the theme "The history of settlement and warfare in Gush Etzion".
A lecture not to be missed! Lecture is in Hebrew with simultaneous translation to English.
Shdema is a military base located between Har Homa and Tekoa.
Abandoned by the IDF in 2006. Arabs, aided by international anti-Israeli NGO's , have set their sight on the hill in order to interrupt the Jewish continuity between Jerusalem and Gush Etzion. In 2010, after Women in Green and the Committee for a Jewish Shdema got involved intensely, the IDF returned to Shdema. Women in Green and the Committee for a Jewish Shdema have been active in Shdema for the past six years to intensify the Jewish presence at the site.
Shdema is accessible by private vehicles. Organized rides will be provided based on preregistration not later than Thursday 1:00pm!
