Dear Friends,
We begin our update page this time with a combination of the "It's Good to Give Thanks" column and our political column:

We are grateful that the Prime Minister's negotiating team was successful in establishing a unity government, even if it is an emergency government. The sages taught us that despite all of his deeds, Ahab embarked on his wars and won, with no soldiers of him being wounded,  only because there was unity among the people. Unity is a supreme value and the very choice of a unity government based on the Zionist majority of the Israeli parliament must be acknowledged and we should be grateful for this
.
However, our movement has warned and continues to caution against the "egalitarian" structure of the planned government, which has an equal number of ministers from the Right and from the Left. This equality between the Right bloc, which numbers at least 59 mandates, and the Left bloc, which is being integrated into the government with only 19 mandates, grants every MK from the Left three times the power of those MKs in the Right camp.

This is the reason that we appealed directly to the Prime Minister with a request to stand strong for the principles of the Land of Israel and to ensure that ministers of the government and cabinet ministers who are faithful to the Land of Israel, the settlement enterprise and sovereignty will be included, and to act so that the Yamina faction will be part of the coalition and the government.

When taking a look at the details of the coalition negotiations and the clause relating to the issue of sovereignty, we see it is expressed in vague, unclear wording, and is open to several interpretations. Lovers of the Land of Israel within the government and outside of it must stand vigil and clarify well the meaning of this clause.

If indeed, as is possible to conclude from the clause on sovereignty, that it is an acceptance of the U.S. President's Deal of the Century, then this is a real and essential danger to the vision of the Land of Israel and the security of the State of Israel. The idea of a deal in which Israeli sovereignty will be applied over 30 percent of the territory and simultaneously, negotiations will begin to establish a Palestinian state over the other 70 percent of the territory, is a dangerous idea, a fatal blow to the Zionist vision, which views the entire Land of Israel as the exclusive home and realm of the Jewish People.

We must again state clearly that only exclusive Israeli rule between the sea and the Jordan River will bring about security, calm and stability. It seems that this simple principle still is not clear even to key figures in the Right camp and we intend to continue to state this clearly, even during the period of the Corona virus.

Holocaust Martyrs 'and Heroes' Remembrance Day, which we observed this week, was characterized by special attention and concern for the generation of the founders, the generation of the survivors of the Holocaust and the Land's revival. The salute to this generation, which this time was done remotely, by soldiers, children, youths and adults, united an entire people in love and appreciation.

Although Remembrance Day was observed with the distancing brought about by Corona, the result was one united and consolidated people; for this we must give thanks and blessings and take pride.

We are now in the midst of the first phase of exit from the Corona crisis, which is still taking the lives of dear and beloved people. Along with the pain and sorrow that this causes, the government of Israel must prepare for the time after Corona and approach the next challenge, the challenge of bringing olim- new immigrants to the Land.

In recent months, the months of Corona, tens of thousands of Jews throughout the world have internalized that their true home is only in the State of Israel. Many of them speak aloud of their desire to make aliya to Israel and unite with their people. The development of the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria must be part of a plan of preparedness to absorb the tens of thousands that are already on the way and those who will come later on.

This time it is with Minister of Tourism (and designated speaker of the Knesset) Yariv Levin:

"Sovereignty for me is the realization of the deepest aspirations of the Jewish People. It is our duty to implement our right, according to the legacy of our forefathers, for our sake and that of future generations."

From the historical archives of researcher, author and publicist Hagai Huberman, on the community of Revava, which was established at this time, 29 years ago:

The eve of the 2nd of Iyar, 5751, April 16th, 1991, the eve of the 43rd  Independence Day of the State of Israel, the community of Revava was established west of Ariel
.
The name is taken from Laban's blessing to Rivka, "Our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of ten thousands". It is also mentioned in Moses' blessing for the tribe of Joseph in the Torah portion "Vezot haBeracha" – "ten thousands of Ephraim" -  an appropriate name for the community, which is located within the area allocated to Ephraim, son of Joseph.

The pioneers were first notified of the date for its establishment - the 3rd of Iyar. Later, it became clear that because of the precedence of Independence Day, the Day of Remembrance would be on the 3rd of Iyar, so the establishment of Revava was brought forward by one day. Revava was given as a gift to the State of Israel for its 43rd  Independence Day.

The establishment of the community received much media noise, since in the same week, at the time of Independence Day, American Secretary of State James Baker came to Israel as part of campaign to visit the capitals of the Middle East. Baker "went crazy" because every time he visited, he was told that a new community had been established . "Every time I come you establish a new settlement in my honor" – he angrily rebuked the Minister of Housing at the time, Ariel Sharon. The pioneers, for their part, sang in his honor "Baker came, Baker came – and we are building Revava…" (in Hebrew it rhymes).

In the shadow of the Corona virus, terrible things are being done in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel. The PA is settling itself in the Arab neighborhoods of the city, determining facts of sovereignty and gnawing away at Israel's rule in the area. Aryeh King, a member of the Jerusalem Council, issues a warning and cautions:

About twenty-five years ago there was an election campaign in Israel between Shimon Peres, and the young and promising politician, Benjamin Netanyahu. Wonderful campaigners for Netanyahu were enlisted from among the Chabad movement.

While the Chabad movement led a positive campaign (as they usually do, it should be noted) of "Netanyahu is good for the Jews", the campaigners for the Likud chose a negative sort of campaign against Peres, the partner of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. The slogan they chose was "Peres will divide Jerusalem".

Since 1996, Peres had not won a place as head of government (fortunately!). On the other hand, Benjamin Netanyahu led the government – and is still leading it – for a total of 13 years out of the past 25. Unfortunately, in analyzing his acts in retrospect, there is no doubt that Bibi acted in ways that divided Jerusalem and gave partial sovereignty of her neighborhoods to the enemy PA. It started with the transfer of Abu Dis to the terrorist authority, continued with allowing the Wakf to excavate in the Temple Mount during his first term, and in the last decade of his rule, the government of Israel has forbidden the Jerusalem Police, Jewish residents and employees of the City of Jerusalem to enter, visit, or give services in 6 neighborhoods of northern Jerusalem.

Various organizations of the PA entered this vacuum: police, intelligence, the department of transportation and recently, under the shadow of the Corona crisis, the PA department of health as well.

Anyone who lifts his head out of the sand can easily see that the Prime Minister, slowly and methodically, is sending the message to the approximately 100,000 residents and citizens of Israel who live in those neighborhoods, that he intends to transfer their neighborhoods to the PA, exactly as he did with Abu Dis, and Hevron, just as he supported the expulsion of Jews from northern Samaria and Gush Katif.

The Sovereignty Youth Movement continues its activities and consolidation for the future. The next generation of Israel's leaders is being formed in the light of the Zionist vision aspiring to sovereignty.

The young men and women recently held a Zoom discussion with Sarah Haetzni-Cohen on the history of the Arab-Jewish conflict and the effects on consciousness that have occurred since the days of withdrawals and concessions and terror attacks until the days of discourse on ways to apply sovereignty.

The youths also held a Zoom meeting with Atty. Simha Rotman from the Movement for Government and Democracy, on the subject of judicial activism.

Hananya ben Shimon, one of the leaders of the youth movement's activities, promises: "We are taking giant steps toward the new campaign – "the Sovereignty Ambassadors", and we are preparing a surprise for Independence Day".
